Jane, someone wrote to me and asked the same thing. I haven't tried that, but I ran across a recipe from a Sunset magazine that is similar, but with orange instead of lemon and with dried cranberries. The recipe was the winner of a Sunset cookie bake-off contest so it must be very good. Dried cranberries are good in muffins, so why not cookies. I doubt it would spoil the taste at all. This sounds good, but my DH wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole! BACON-WRAPPED SHRIMP 1 (16 oz.) pkg. bacon 40 shrimp 1 (10 oz.) bottle teriyaki sauce Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap bacon around shrimp. Secure with toothpicks. Place in 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour teriyaki sauce over shrimp. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Bake at 400 degrees, uncovered, 20-25 minutes or until bacon is crisp. This one I think he'd eat, so I may try it.... CRACKER SPREAD 2 (8 oz.) cream cheese 1 pkg. Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix Bacon bits Mix cheese and package of ranch dressing mix together. Shape into a ball and roll in bacon bits. Show: Paula's Home Cooking Episode: Sports Party 1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless, chicken breasts (about 4 breasts) 1 (1-pound) package sliced bacon 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons chili powder Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick. Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture. Coat a rack and broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken wrap on rack in broiler pan. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

Out here in NM a big favorite is tortilla roll-ups or pinwheels, elsewhere don't know if you can get the flour tortillas but they sure are easy and tasty. Tortilla Roll Ups 1 pkg good flour tortillas 1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese 1 4 oz. frozen or canned green chiles (blotted dry) garlic powder to taste 4 oz. black olives chopped fine Mix up the cream cheese and chiles with whatever seasoning you want. Trim tortillas until they are square instead of round, spread with cream cheese mixture and roll tightly. Store in plastic wrap in refrigerator for overnight and then slice 1/2 to 3/4" thick and place on plate. I have had these with pecans chopped fine added and also with dried beef, grated onion and pimento (which adds color only). Think we prefer them with just the garlic and green chile. Molly

Marinated Pork Roast ½ cup soy sauce ½ cup sherry 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tbsp dry mustard 1 tsp ground ginger 1 tsp dried thyme 1 4 to 5 pound pork loin roast, boned, rolled and tied Cherry sauce Blend first 6 ingredients. Pour over meat in a plastic bag; set in deep bowl. Marinate in closed bag 2 to 3 hours at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator. Occasionally press gab against meat to distribute marinade. Remove meat from marinade; place on rack in shallow roasting pan. Roast, uncovered at 325º for 2 ½ to 3 hours or till meat thermometer reaches 170º Baste with marinade during last hour. Serve with Currant sauce. Serves 10 - 12 people. Cherry sauce 10 ounce jar cherry preserves 2 tbsp sherry 1 tbsp soy sauce Place all ingredients in a sauce pan and heat till preserves are melted. Serve over meat. I serve this with steamed rice as the sauce is wonderful on it too.
