Does Mixed Liqui-Copy Expire? Disposal?
Comments (2)OK nobody answered my obviously dumb question above. I was curious if/how anyone disposes of a half-gallon of pre-mixed copper. I followed the directions above (off the label) and put it in the garbage. Can someone confirm another (dumb) question: Azamax is compatible with Liqui-Cop, correct? From Liqui-Cop: Can be mixed with oils, for use as dormant spray on fruit trees. From Azamax: Do not use AzaMax with Captan, Bordeaux mixture, triphenyltin hydroxide, lime sulfur, Rayplex iron or other highly alkaline materials as they can cause phytotoxicity and/or reduced efficacy on some target pests. Phytotoxicity will occur if tank-mix combinations with compounds known to be incompatible with oil-based formulations are used. Just trying to avoid making stupid mistakes. Comments (6)I helped someone clean out some kitchen cabinets of long-expired food last year and composted all of it, about 2 boxfuls: plant-protein powders, boxed soups and soymilks, unidentified grains, etc. I mixed it a little with browns (mulch) as I added it, but it was still a pretty disgusting process. And then, a couple months later, I moved all my compost bins AND the compost. That bin was the stinkiest compost ever! As I moved it, I distributed the stinkiest glop to different bins and made sure to put lots of normal compostables and mulch between layers of glop. And when the compost was done, I couldn't tell the difference between the bins that had the pantry glop and the bins that didn't. It was all great compost!...See MoreComposting expired food products
Comments (3)Bottle had 32 fl. oz and only about 1/3 was consumed. Small amounts is do-able. Pile is about 3'+ wide, and is a new pile just started this week while the other is full and cooking in the center. New pile: On bottom are rolls for paper towels/toilet paper, paper egg crates, shredded brown packing paper, and layered veggies/fruit scraps, and half finished compost/leaves. Thank you!...See MoreTried to make biscuits with expired baking powder
Comments (24)malna- That's too funny (LOL). I'll never hear the rip of Velcro without thinking about your wallet. A. I would never pay full price for baking powder (and nearly everything else come to think about it). It will eventually be on sale - usually in the fall before the holidays when most baking ingredients go on sale. On my tight budget, every cent counts - A LOT! B. The last 3 containers I purchased were 78-cents each and were on the discount shelf at the store just before Christmas. The gal stocking it said they were extras that didn't fit on the shelf when they were restocking, and they didn't want to put them in back-stock, so they reduced them. Happy me!!! This happens a lot at our little grocery store. Not everything is out-of-date or dented on the clearance rack in the back of the store. -Grainlady...See More- 16 years ago
