All packaged food will "turn" eventually. I would toss them. They probably won't make anyone sick but they will have degraded to the point that the flavors will be 'off'.

If they have been packaged in plastic instead of glass, I would absolutely toss them. Plastics leach chemicals into foods and older food products packaged in plastics can have an unsafe amount, especially with liquids packaged in plastic and even more so with highly acids foods like juices.

I don't think that the best if used by dates mean much on a lot of things. I just checked and saw my Sea Salt has a date of Aug 2011 on it. I'm certainly not going to chuck it if it isn't used by then, the same goes for a lot of spices.

I consider Use By dates as just a ballpark date, and in lots of cases it doesn't matter much, if any at all.

Might the mixes have a telephone # or a website where you could inquire about the date from the product code?
I try to never buy anything (that matters anyway) without a date of some sort on it.

One of the bottles is plastic. I just opened it to pour out the contents, and discovered the seal on top was bulging. That settles it--out they all go!

BTW, I've become very conscious of plastic lately.....as we all should be, sadly.

Oh, and PS: Our local animal shelter solicits donations from people's freezers.....meat that has been forgotten at the bottom, or otherwise left there too long, freezer-burned or not.

Natalie, I wouldn't use anything with any dairy, like Irish Cream, but the for others, I'd sure take a sniff and a little taste to see if they are okay. But if you have any qualms, then just discard them and get a new stash.
