Tiffy .. there are so many kittens out there this year .. I just cant believe it. But if you really want to give someone a chance in life .. adopt an older cat. Many are put to sleep because kittens are so cute and the shelters run out of room for everyone. Or they become ill due to over crowding. Dont purchase one at a pet store!!! The shelters have so many. I personally have 7 cats of my own .. three of whom I have raised since they were only a few days old. But the rest have been rejects from the shelters .. older cats who no one wanted. They all get along no matter their age .. they just need time to introduce themselves to other pets. I tend to have a soft spot for the underdogs so many of my cats have had issues. One of them named Mouse was a wild cat that was found in the bush in Northern Ontario .. a hunter found and trapped him .. he is so beautiful. He actually is a purbred Ragdoll. Mouse is the cat in the back of the photo .. Meshoo is also a stray Ragdoll .. they have the best personalities .. so calm and regal. All they want to do is love you!! I have a crippled cat .. and actually I named the kitten after him .. Taz senior is now 17 years old and doing well. I hand raised him as a foster kitten. Then he developed issues with his balance. The shelter wanted to put him to sleep but I was having none of that .. so I took off with him :o) I never did foster for that shelter again :o) If they had put him to sleep I would never have found my best friend .. I just love him to death!!! He is mommys boy. Its odd how I have such a strong bond with him .. I have had many cats but none like this little man. He is my world .. odd .. but true. Fostering any animal is truely a labour of love and boarders on insanity :o) Since April I have been up every two hours feeding and stimulating kittens .. thank god I dont sleep well to begin with :o) A friend of mine adopted one of my kittens this year .. guess what .. he gets her up at 5 am to feed him :o) He got into a routine when he was little and because I have had so many little guys this year .. he use to get up with me at feeding time ... he would even wake me up if I missed the alarm by pushing his head into my face :o) Poor Debbie .. I hope he has out grown that bad habit :o) Well I am off to feed the new zoo crew .. they are so cute :o) Laura

Lynn, Thanks but didn't I just describe most of us who urge our kids to conquer their fears, handle their lives and step up to take their place in this world? I think Max seriously wanted to marry me when he was very young. Now? Not so much. LOL! Max's job is new. He gets his first paycheck tomorrow. He's officially off the dole but he is still learning about this little concept. Phone call earlier this week: (Setting: After his first day of school) "School is great. I really like my classes.", "That's great, Max!" "Well, I have an opportunity to work tonight but I'm not scheduled and they won't hold it against me, so I'm not going in." (My wheels start to spin) "Max, it would look really good if you went in." "Yes, and I'm willing to work on Mondays but they need to schedule me." Blah, blah, blah about books he needs to buy, etc. and then: "Do you think you could send me about $70. this week so I have a little extra money?" (my brain "!!!!!!!!!!", but again, joyfully) "Hmm, you are saying you need extra money but you don't want to work extra? Papa works extra to provide you with *your* extra. Maybe you should let Papa have a little time off and you can work in his place." Utter silence. Joyfully, I said: "Is there anything else? I'm just running to the store." "No, that is it." "OK. I love you and am so happy you like your classes. Call soon!" "I love you too and I will." Hey, I may have fallen off the potato truck last night but I was awake all night.

My baby girl turned 21 last Thursday, the 27th. Her brother will be 26 this coming Thursday, April 3rd. Here's a pic of my baby girl, she's a junior in college and in on their website right now. I hope the link works, it's www.ship.edu the big pic you should see when the page comes up should have 3 kids on it with the word LEADERSHIP below their faces. If it doesn't keep hitting refresh til the leadership pic comes up. My daughter is the girl on the right as you look at your monitor. I have to say, at the risk of being and sounding biased, she's georgeous. 5'10' (sure as heck didn't get that from me!) smart, funny, sweet, caring, big heart,etc. etc. etc. LOL forgive me!!!! I'm very sorry for your loss. That said, Let's move on to your immeidate concern. The healing process takes time; It can not, nor should it, be rushed. Do not be surprised if the grieving period last up to a year or more, before the hurt begins to dull. The expression, "Put if behind me" has no value here because this event is never 'behind you'; It is always up front and in your face. How could you forget such a gut wrenching event? What you have to do is to take it one step at a time, live one day at a time. Do what you must today and then wait for tomorrow to face tomorow's chores. This is something that can not be 'put behind you' by some magical process, in one giant leap. It is deep in your inner core. Don't force it. Let time work its healing. Our prayers go with you.

Thanks ladies...I did take these this afternoon. She wasn't making the funny newborn faces and I took advantage of that! she is a good baby..not a fussy baby at all..pretty mellow so far!

How old? How nice that she is so good.

Our new grandson is almost 2 months old and is sweet. Fusses only when he is hungry or gassy. Don't know where the sweet temperament came from--not our side of the family.

She is a beautiful baby girl. Spoil her all you can. It's a grandma's right you know.

Our 5th greatgrandchild came into the world yesterday, a little girl, with lots of dark hair, just like your granddaughter.

What a darling little girl.....but I don't have to tell you that, do I? When I look at her picture now and realize it's been a month already, I think of the song 'Turnaround'. The time just goes so quickly.

Isn't she just precious. I will get my baby fix tomorrow when I sit with a friend's baby who is 5 months old. They grow so fast.

Thank you all...CB I never noticed the "wings"!! Perfect huh? LOL...and she was born with more hair, she is losing some now on the top. Mommy says she is getting her daddy's hairline! We are spoiling her every chance we get...papa scoops her up everytime he sees her and won't let her go! Juellie she is our 4th grandhild, but our first granddaughter..and we are blessed to have her! Both sides of the famliy is full of boys! She is our precious gift for sure. Austin, her brother, Ricky and Seth can't get enough of her!

What wonderful pictures. She is so precious. Looks like a good armful too. I'm getting ready to go see my twin granddaughters right now. They are 13 months. They are getting in to EVERYTHING!!! Give your baby lots of hugs and kisses.
