It seems that the 12/21 logo was the man looking at the Google logo laid out in front of him. He proceed on the 22 and on the 23 to make a toy out of the logo. Something goes wrong today....thus the frightened boy and sparks from the toy. It seems that Google might be sending a message, although I don't know what it is.
(I didn't figure it out...I Googled the possible explanation...lol)

I'm not sure I've got an explanation for it, but if you click on the illustration, 4 more panels appear.

1. The word, Google, is laying on the workbench and a tinkerer begins ti tinker with it.

2. A child appears as the work progresses. The word, google is being transformed into some other Rube Goldberg contraption.

3. The work progresses. A funnel appears on the left and the main machine is in the center.

4. The machine has been turned on and it spurts fireworks and jets of steam.

This is my take, however, the illustrations are so nebulous that it is not clear what is intended.

Jemdandy, you may be on to something there. If the pics had been larger and not so dark, it would have helped also.

With your explanation, I'm wondering if the logo is somehow connected to the new Google Chrome Browser that is in BETA.
I don't know enough about it to be able to discuss it, but I believe it is still being tinkered with.

But if the browser is anything like that illustration, I will probably never try it.

In the last picture I can't tell what the child is holding, but it looks like an unfinished nutcracker. There is also a nutcracker is in front of the shoot on the right.

In number 3 they are putting items into the funnel, I'm not sure if frame 4 is something like a lightening strike or magical beam hitting the machine or if it is the machine spewing the steam. And number 5 is the result, things that have coume out of the machine, bigger and better? Could be the tinkering being done to Google with the chrome, good idea.

I think it's just a Nutcracker making machine, fashioned by a Geppetto-like toy maker. Very clever and cute progression, using the google letters.

I don't know if I'm looking at what your talking about. My Google window shows a penguin and a bear ice skating around a Christmas tree.

It looks like the last pic the kid is holding a nutcracker.

The panels progrees from the guy working with gears and pieces that are laid out to form the word *GOOGLE*, to make a machine - a "Google machine".

Little, mixed up pieces and parts are put into the funnel of the Google machine.

The machine works those pieces.

Out comes a finished item that is usefull.

I think it just represents what Google does. You put in oddball keywords and get a informative, useful, written article.

The artwork for the series is terrible. Too dark and too tiny.
