Camryn's room is coming along...(pic)

We put pretty much everything together this weekend for Camryn's room. I am waiting on some hand painted wall letters that will match her bedding to hang above the crib. They still have a few weeks before they'll be done.

The valance needs work - I haven't played with the pleats since we hung them. I'm debating on putting some curtains on either side of the window, just for looks, possibly in the same chocolate as the chair cushion. I'm not sure yet.

I just need some knick-knack things for some shelves and it will be done. (the swing wont stay in there, it's just being stored in there for now)

I agree with the warranty. Mine came with a year free and I had to replace the entire duct work and only paid $55, of course I found out today they did a lousy job of it but hopefully the insurance will make them come fix it. I'm glad I renewed it. Its so good to have a place that is yours and to know you can make all the beds you want and never have to dig them up to take or leave them behind again. I think thats why I'm so plant crazy now. I was deprived before, lol. Like Jim said. Make them an offer you might get a heck of a deal with the economy in the crapper like it is. They were about to do some remodeling on my house when I bought it during prime season and I got it 10,000 cheaper as is. There was nothing really wrong with it that I couldn't live with and put in what I want a little at a time like the ugly linoleum in the kitchen but heck, the longer I can put if off the longer the new stuff will be new when I get it done finally, lol.

Hi spudderbud -- thank you for your really kind words and encouragement. I appreciate it more than you know! The dark grey shape which looks like a doorway is what used to be our entrance to the dining room -- it was sealed up and at the far left of the picture you can see the new entrance. Lying on its back in front of the old doorway is the oven cabinet; the hulk under the blue and grey moving blankets is the hood (I think). And then just miles of crown and base mouldings. This is where we are. Last Monday they finished laying the (raw) hardwood and since then nothing's been done (in the kitchen). The drywallers have been working throughout the house and are hopeful (me too) to be done by this Friday, which means the cabinet install can begin the following Monday (2/18). I heard from our countertop fabricator late last week that they'd started honing our marble -- yippee! So I know that whenever the cabinets are in and ready for templating the marble will be ready as well. I don't know why the drywallers will only work if they are the only subs in the house -- I wish there were more going on at once. I think. Noise is noise, except sometimes too much noise can be crazy-making, so perhaps I should just be grateful .... Thank you again for your thoughtful query. When there's anything to show of the kitchen I'll post some pictures! Take care!

I am so excited for you! Your house is coming together so beautifully and I just love that you let your beautiful five year-old pick her pink: I bet it makes her feel that much more excited about going to a new place. (I saw your other sweet girl in the Kitchen forum -- you did good! Such happy daughters.) I am really enjoying watching your house come together. It's lovely! (I love Chattanooga, too. My grandmother summered in the Smoky Mountains and my godmother lived on Minnekahda Road [on the river]. I have many happy memories of staying with her and playing with her [close to my age] children, swimming in the river. Aren't you lucky to live there in your lovely new house. I'm looking forward to more of your pictures!)

The dark you see on her head is not hair..it's just just shadowing from outside the sonogram viewing area. The edges are distorted. They actually see the hair on a regular 2D ultrasound, not these 3D ones. Grant was very nervous about being at the ultrasound. He thought we were at the doctor and he's terrified of doctors offices. He doesn't understand the actual pictures at this point.

Your choice of browns and pink look great..reminds me of dessert..you know what I mean, I hope. That crib is so charming..reminds me of a short bed.

What does Grant think of his new room?

When I saw the crib and bedding I knew Camryn's room was going to be beautiful! But its more than beautiful, its stunning and adorable! I love it!

I love the colors too!

Does the crib have a side that slides down? You know, for short people to be able to lay the baby down in the crib. I don't know if they even make cribs with a side sliding down anymore...LOL My baby is 22 years old...hahahaha

Sweet room! I really like the non-traditional colours rather than "pink-is-for-girls, blue-is-for-boys". The chocolate brown is lovely with the pink and can go from a baby room to a "big-girl" room so easily.

Beautiful room. The baby is very lucky! I know they make cribs now that grow with the child. From crib to youth bed, to double sized bed. Is this what this crib does? It's really nice!

No, the side rail doesn't go down and I'm sure that once the mattress is at it's lowest point, it will be somewhat challenging for me (I'm short), but this is really the style I wanted and this style doesn't have a drop rail.

The crib I had for Grant did have a drop rail, which was nice.

And yes, this is what the call a convertible crib. The backside becomes a headboard and the front becomes a footboard for a double bed.

Very pretty Steph.

LOL Growing up my bedroom was the same colour pink. I use that room as a junkroom for now and the walls are still the same pink. Maybe when I finally get it cleaned out I will add some brown and get rid of the pastel - I like how you put those colours together.

Very nice Steph. I remember when you posted pics of different cribs but never read which one you chose. The one I would have chosen is now sitting in Camryn's lovely room.
