Anyone else still on Dial Up?...because...
Comments (13)I'm still dial-up, but it's a matter of choice. All the other stuff is available, but I just don't want to bother with making changes. Of course, there are times when I really want to see some pictures, and they are very slow to come up. When that happens, I just close down and come back another time (on the assumption that there's a lot of traffic that's bottling up the line), or I get out my knitting and work on that while waiting. It really saves me a lot of frustration. I do think that some of the photo files are probably bigger than they need to be, but I also know that my dial-up is the main problem. It's possible that if I ever get myself a digital camera and want to post pictures of my own roses (providing they ever bloom), I will change my mind and switch. Comments (5)The plant with lots of green tomatoes will ripen eventually. A lot of factors influence how quickly - weather and heridity being two. There are some rather drastic things you can do to make the plant think the season is almost over. I don't recommend them and will leave it to others to say how. If they don't start to turn before cool weather returns (40 deg. at night), post again and we'll consider options. Black Cherry is a huge plant for me spilling out of the 5 ft cages and back down to ground and setting hundreds of fruit. The fruit sets in trusses like many cherry tomatoes. Are yours like that or singles and doubles? You may have crossed seeds or a small purple that was mislabled. Jim...See MoreAnyone in bay area have extra pots I can pick up?
Comments (11)urbanore.com/ Urban Ore in Berkeley has plastic pots, lots of 4" and other sizes, they also ussualy have some terra cotta and other ceramic, metal etc. Super cheap, like .50 each for decent used small terra pots. Plastic 4" are like 10 for a dollar or similar. In Berkeley near Ashby Ave and the freeway 80. I also get a couple of cheap terra pots every time I'm at the goodwill store, usually a couple buck each or nice glazed ceramic one for around 3 bucks. I've collected hundreds this way over the years. You can also buy cheap NEW plastic pots at Orchard Supply Hardware if you want clean and new. Lastly recycle centers, like where you take your cardboard, plastics etc. in your town.... mine and many others have a book exchange and garden supply exchange, lots of free plastic and terra cotta pots, 1/2 bags of soil, old hoses etc. Call around, theres one nera my house and I stop there when I have an extra minute, pays off over time:-)...See MoreDoes anyone still have pieces to my mother Jade I shared!
