I did, I was busy getting turkey ready to put in the oven,sat down at 10 remembered .What happened?

DS said it was just a recap. What little I saw was when they choose the young and the old and showed a shot of Jimmy Johnson. I got interested in something else and didn't watch anymore.

Tinker - I really respect your willingness to keep as much of the home as you could. It is absolutely beautiful and exactly the style I would choose as well. We're just finishing picking fixtures for our new addition and fell in love with that style of schoolhouse fixture you put in the kitchen. I love your kitchen! That would be a dream space for me. And the laundry - oh, the laundry! In theory, I agree with totsuka. I think that the bar has been raised in this country, and many people are putting upgrades in their kitchens and baths that aren't necessary. It would be silly to put granite countertops in our modest bungalow, but I think some home buyers expect it. HGTV or whatever has made us think that somehow cooking on certain surfaces is mandatory. I was struck when I lived in England how dingy that carpet often was and how home dwellers didn't seem to notice. I appreciate that sense that if it works it's okay even if it isn't current. Maybe I misread the aesthetic there, but I had the sense they had lower expectations, at least in my circles. Not everything had to be perfect, and people were used to living in older spaces. But having said that, what you did is extraordinary. And if you have the money, I think home improvement is one of the most satisfactory ways to spend your money, especially if you are committed to restoring rather than renovating.

Thanks, BlackChamois :-) We wound up using the cabinet paint from Schuler in the kitchen only and the house trim paint on the kitchen window and everywhere else - hallway with the pantry, transom, mudroom and powder room (had it matched - I have to find out the color). I was worried but it works, I think because there are bends and curves to break it up visually, and the colors look spot on (the cabinet paint's finish is slightly different). Also it helps that the carpenter is talented and was able to match the original dentil and make it for the new spaces.

I wanted to say the same thing that kathi did...you don't really know what kind of side effects you will have from chemo. It is way different from what it used to be. I heard so many horror stories that I was very worried but it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined or had heard it would be. I have had some side effects but the biggest one is just fatigue and we can all live with taking a nap or resting when we need too. I am losing my hair but it's only hair. I gave up the biggest part of a breast to beat cancer so I can easily give up my hair cause I know it will grow back...The others go away fast enough and I usually only have two days of feeling really punk and the rest of the week I am OK...I manage. I have help cleaning the hard stuff in my home like baths and kitchens etc but I still keep up with the daily stuff including the laundry and do most of our meals as well. Many of my friends have worked during their whole chemo so don't expect the absolute worst.....Just do what you need to do to get through and it goes pretty fast. I started in Sept if I remember correctly and I will be finished by the end of Jan. You will probably appreciate help when you need it but you'll get it done before you know it....

Yes. The garden will still be open to the public. Just no "event." And, I should note, ALL of the arches of roses are gone ... per the City's demand. I do mean to go myself, at some point. There is one thing I want cuttings of, before it's ripped out. And if they are able to re-schedule the event, we will be there.

I watched it. It was a big disapointment. They just showed some otherwise not seen footing, but it was obvious why they didn't show it -- boreing!!!

That hassle with NaOnka that was shown in last weeks previews was just about stealiing that food, nothing new.

The Thanksgiving episode of Survivor is always "previously unaired footage and deleted scenes" - it's never a new episode that affects the outcome of the game.

hayjud_mn.....I don't think so. At the Ponderosa they showed their reaction to having to go to council the very next day. They never do back to back councils. They were excited to find out "why"? Brenda was stressing that she was just voted out and now she had to face THOSE people as she put it, that voted her out....that didn't want her there....whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Oh.....yes....I'm wondering what Na did......

Wow! Nicole, either we saw a different show here in MN, or since I was so bored, maybe a phased it out enough to miss that part. I asked DH about it and he said he doesn't recall anything about Brenda whineing about having to face the others. Boy, she must be TOTALLY into HER only.
I was knitting at the same time.

Bummer, we recorded it (always, in case of interuption) BUT it is already erased. I'll try to find it on the net.

I haven't been watching those. That is a lot different from the Survivor show, which by the way, I still thought was boreing.
