I had a plant and it did not manage the drought so well, so it's time to replace and plant in a space it would prefer.

I don't think you made a mistake. I think it might look great. What color are your floors? What is your design style? Midmod? Industrial? Country? Contemp? Here are some pretty galley kitchens on Houzz. Which do you prefer dark or light counters? I like the light countertops. The Iook at this above kitchen with the Virginia Jet Mist granite honed and I think wow black is really pretty too... Good luck with choosing. SO many beautiful spaces to create.

Not sure what is your idea of dated. Everyone’s perception is different. Google Viscon granite, Silver Cloud granite, and Thunder White granite. If you don’t like those, I recommend you go to Quartz counters.

Those are cute, CR, and will look adorable out by the pond. If I had a place to plug something in, I'd like some lighting out by my little pond. Of course, then the cats would be catching frogs and bringing them into the house all night, as if mice and flying squirrels aren't fun enough. lol (We took a live FS out the other night, Murphy had brought him in. They are so cute, but fast and have sharp teeth. Pretty sure he was OK, as quick as he was moving and as high as he was jumping!)

This old house doesn't have an outdoor outlet either. I have an extension from my Bathroom Window that I use. My DD calls it my "Ghetto Fix". I just put a stick in the window to keep it from being opened from the outside. LOL!
