Comments (81)Thank you everyone for coming to the swap. What a difference a weeks makes. Couldn't have been more perfect weather, especially after last weekend. It was and is my pleasure to host the swap every spring, and plan on doing so for a lot more years. Agnes you beat me to the link with the recipe. Tara, now what good is a large yard with grass growing in it. costs money to keep it growing, way to much water to keep it green and we end up with water bans, restrictions all over the place, so how do you water the lawns?, patch the lawns and keep the grass seed wet so it will germinate, seedlings grow etc. Yup, tis why my front lawn looks like it does. We've had permanent water restrictions in town for years and years now and there is a fine for watering on the wrong day. Trust me, the town is eager for money and they travel around just looking for someone watering on the wrong day. If I'm going to water on alternate days, then it's going to be water used to grown my plants and garden beds, not lawns. Zazheen, not a problem with the wagon. Melissa took it with her, got in her car and now the kids have it. Melissa, thanks but no thanks, the wagon is yours, but as Mark said, he would love to see pictures of the "newly renovated wagon" when it's done. Comments (39)Good Morning ...long time no post BUT I am reading when I have time. Christmas Exchange - I'm in! French Lick - I'm out. I will be in San Diego for my oldest DS's Police Academy graduation. Diet - I am doing very well on WW. I actually really love the program and it is working for me. I needed accountability and I was not good at all. I love food and as much as I loved some of the low carb diets...I cheated too easily because I missed some on the things that I loved to eat. On WW, I can have a potato, banana, popcorn...etc. I am not putting down low carb, it works for some but I don't remember the last time I lost 10 pounds so easily. I am doing their Core plan and I don't count points unless it is a treat like a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich, fat free chips or something like that. I have to pay each week to get weighed and I find the meetings pretty good. I am doing with the SO and he is losing too. He needed to lose weight and I really was not into making different meals for each of us so I said I would do WW with him. He is losing too and being as competitive as I am...I think it keeps me on task. Work - BUSY and I lost my assistant so I have twice as much work again to do. Working out - I work in an office full of IT geeks. I was talking to one of them the other day and he was telling me about this program for the XBox. ( Video Game Machine ) It is called Yourself Fitness. It is like having a personal trainer. It creates different work outs for you according to your fitness level. It keeps you interested because the workouts change all the time. They even ask you what kinds of other workout items you have and incorporate that into the workout. ( weights, fitness ball, step ) I am seriously considering this because I really want to get back into shape. My car accident in 03 has really messed up my back. I haven't worked out since then because it seems like any little thing give me sciatica. I put on 10 pounds on top of what I needed to lose and that only added to having low self esteem about myself. I have one of the momentus birthdays next year and I really really want to look good for it. Kids -They are all well and happy! I cannot ask for more. I swore last weekend that I'd finished my Christmas shopping, then SD announced that she was bringing her new boyfriend for Christmas, so that meant another trip out today to buy for him. Can't have anyone just sitting there on Christmas morning while everyone else is opening their gifts!!! Actually, he was the easiest person on my list to shop for.LOL Suzanne, I not only copied your recipe for the mug cakes, but I also copied and saved the photo! I want to make those next Christmas. Too much on my plate this year as I'm realizing the hard way. My house is in desperate need of attention. Our trip is still not officially decorated yet, nor is the house. *sigh* Marci, I'm glad that you're feeling better. Once you announce your pending retirement, you'll feel even better! I've never been a Tracie fan, and I thought her face looked very wrinkly when she'd smile. Her excess weight left her 'loose'. Tikanis, do the best you can on working out. It's all you CAN do, so don't be so hard on yourself. I've got almost all my postal items ready to mail tomorrow morning, then I'm off to donate items to our local thrift store, and then to our church to wrap all the presents we bought last Thursday for the Angel Tree. Tomorrow night is a business Christmas party - a fancy dress one! Saturday night is hubby's company party, and it's also dressy. It's so cold here and will be for the next few days that I had to buy a dressy black wrap to wear with my party clothes this weekend. Comments (60)Regan’s called me last week to tell me they couldn’t ship to Mississippi. I’m so bummed! I hate losing all those roses that were on my list. A local nursery has Sweet Spirit sothats a plus. This was just unexpected. Honestly I was most excited about Easy Does It. This one had been on my wishlist for years. Also, another local nursery has some Brindabellas but they lost the tags so won’t know the colors for another few weeks. I’ll probably pick up a few sweet spirits and a few brindabellas to cover what I would have received from regan’s. Has this happened to anyone else?
