I have a Tassimo. This is my second....the first lasted a couple of years, this one is about 4 years old. I have a girlfriend that has had two stop working for her. Not sure how often she used it. I use mine for 4-5 cups a week....one cup a day for myself; on the weekend I use my auto drip for more than a cup a day. I have stayed with the Tassimo because of the milk discs for lattes and cappacinnos that I don't think Kuerig has. The Tassimo is not as popular and therefore the discs are not as highly available as the Kuerig; however, they can be found at Target, Walmart, and BB&B, and of course online. I don't think the machines are quite as expensive as the Keurig, but I could be wrong about that since I haven't bought one in a while. Overall, I do like the Tassimo. The only time it gives me an issue is if the bar code can't be read well, but I can usually remedy that with a quick swipe across the reader. Not really sure why that happens. It's not dirty, just sensitive it seems. I have had to 'reset' it with the power switch before too. It is convenient for a quick cup of coffee....the kids like their hot chocolate and other flavors as well, when you're sick and need hot tea as quickly as possible, it's great too....but like I said, it's only for a one-cupper around here, otherwise, we make a bigger pot.

There are over 100 varieties of coffee, (I started to count and gave up), available for the Keurig, so if you haven't found one strong enough yet, you probably haven't tried them all. Although if you expect espresso, I don't think the Keurig will do it for you. The extra bold k kups are supposed to have 25%-30% more coffee in them for stronger cups or larger cups. Trying one or even 5 or 10 varieties does not necessarily mean the right one doesn't exist. You might try "Double Black Diamond Extra Bold Coffee by Green Mountain". The "new" bold cups are supposed to have 30% more coffee. I don't like super strong coffee, but I love my new coffee maker. My SIL got one from Kohls and it is just as loud as the one I had from Costco. I bought another one from Kohls, the Platnum, which they claim has "quiet brew technology" or something like that. It is quieter if that is important to you. Sue

Glenda posted that a friend had given her one...remember. My husband and I participated in testing the home version when they were still in the making. We used it for a long time but I have several coffee makers and I think the keurig is overpriced and the kcups too expensive. My favorite pot is a 4 cup Mr.Coffee ...I use it almost every morning...it makes probably the best coffee of any maker I have ever had including my most expensive coffee maker and my expresso machine. I know this little 4 cup machine is just a lucky happening as they all probably don't make wonderful coffee...but I won't gripe and I've had it forever. I don't drink enough coffee any more to worry about the cost but I refuse to pay the price for kcups and the keurig coffee maker just because of the principal of it...I think it's a rip off.

I'm going to do this as an experiment in the spring. Put grass seed in Keurig cups filled with the leftover grinds only; in cups filled with grinds and topsoil; and in cups filled with only topsoil. I will also test the differences between KBG and TTTF in this experiment. And then also note the follow-up success once removed from the cups and planted in the lawn (maybe half in June and the rest in September). It should be easy to control for all the other things like water and sunlight. I have a hunch that recycling these used plastic k-cups will work great for growing singular grass plugs. For convenience sake, I hope that the cups filled only with coffee grinds will be successful. If if I understand this properly, coffee is acidic until brewed; all of the acid is washed into the beverage, leaving behind coffee grinds with a neutral ph.
