My Grandson, Nicolas, was born 7 weeks ago.

With his big sis, 'Becca.

His Great Grandpa will be 94 next week.

All decked out for Halloween.

Oh my goodness, thank you for the lovely compliments, support and well wishes. That's so nice. I really appreciate each one. I am still scratching my head over the mantel arrangement and the large hall arrangement. What's the difference between a large hall arrangement and a large bouquet anyway? I think for the large bouquet I'm going to use a large white wash pitcher with Annabelle Hydrangea. No fillers, just clean and simple. And for the large hall arrangement, I'm thinking of making a topiary using an ice bucket for the base filled with floral foam and top with moss. Then using a ball of floral foam covered with moss and roses for the top. I'll see if I can find a super straight stick for the trunk, if not I will use dowel. But I'm not sure this will be large enough. Well, I will just have to try it and see! The frog vase isn't a vase at all. It's a tobacco jar that was passed down to me from my Grandmother. It is much older than I and is one of my favorite family pieces. I don't think he is a character from "Wind in The Willows". Cindy- I bet your bouquets were wonderful. What a nice way to brighten your work space! Becr- I sorry here hear about your rose. I will also cross my finger for you. jfrorelo-- We'll be going back out there this summer. It has to be summer so I can show Johnny how to use that landing net!! :-) Elizabeth-- Saying no is her dad's job (thank God!). Good thing, too-- If it were up to me, that word would never roll across my lips! I get around these kids and i'm like jello!! Pauline-- Yes, she did. Every year Kathleen makes scarfs and slippers for all the kids. As for Andrew being too old to be my son, you're right, but you're not. He's actually my stepson, but he's definitely not too old to be my son. He's 28 and I'm 48. :-) Oh, and I DO think of him as my son. :-)

Hi Oldcrafty, I'm very happy to help in any way I can but there are two things I don't have a lot of experience with and they are (1) mosaics using glass and (2) the amazing extremes of weather that a lot of people on this site experience. eg We are in the middle of Winter where I live in Australia and the temperature at the moment is 25 degrees celcius. All of my outdoor mosaics don't have the problems associated with freezing etc..... That, I'm sure is a whole different ball game! However, to answer your question, pva glue is the opaque white glue that is quite cheap to buy.(in Australia anyway) It's used a lot in woodwork and is water soluable. I only use it to keep the ceramic tile pieces adhered to the mesh. It is definately not strong enough to be the 'final' mosaic adhesive. It's a little tricky when different countries call things a different name. For example, we don't have a product called Thinset. From reading lots of info on the internet, I've deduced it's equivalent to our cement based tile adhesive. I could be wrong (I'd love to be corrected if I am) If the thinset you are using is the same as our cement based tile adhesive, then I have used it a lot in outside projects (some verticle ones) and find it is just fine. Some projects have been out there for many years. But Oldcrafty, it may just be because our winters are so mild. Can anyone else on this forum answer this for really cold winter areas?

He sure is a beautiful and handsome baby. I love the joy in his sister's eyes in the picture of them together.

You may not know but Ron and I are married. Sweet Nico is growing super fast! He now makes eye contact and smiles at us. He's so fabulous!!! Becca is such a great big sister, too!!

Nicolas is a beautiful baby. He does look more alert than most babies that age.

Your dad (?) looks amazing for 94. Where the heck are his wrinkles and what's his secret? :-)

I don't know what Dads secret is. He's 94, I'm 56 and he has twice as much hair.Actually, I blame it on the kids. He just had 2 boys who were both little angels, while I had a daughter and 4 boys who put me through the ringer.

No, we didn't get a 4 generation pic, yet. When I do you'll see it.
