You have to realize that Edward AFB is not too far away. We lived in that area for over 35 years and it was a standard joke to all of us that there is no such thing as a UFO--just Edwards. But seriously they did a lot of testing (and probably still do) early morning and late evening and at night. There were several stealth fighters that didn't make it, but no one every knew we would see them for awhile before the rest knew what it was. Also Vandenberg Base is around their too.

Some old retired Navy guy speculated that it was a warning shot, via submarine, to Southeast Asia (while Obama is over there) that we have big bad missiles that could reach them if they misbehave. Somehow I doubt it, but I've been wrong before. :-)

i think officials in LA think everyone living there mustbe nitwits thou, trying to say it was an airplane LOL. yea right, i've seen thousands of flight take offs and tons of rocket launches at NASA, that was a rocket... it will be interesting to see if someone comes up w/ some sort of trajectory and we can trace it back. ~ liz

I've seen a lot of launches missiles and rockets and this was a rocket/missile. I did not see anything that looked like it had "altered" course as the guy Pike said "The object could not have been a rocket because it appeared to alter its course." Sure it did we believe you.

From the report tracing it back the launch came from an area about 35 miles off the coast of Los Angeles north of Catalina Island I'm more interested to see/know where it went!

radio stations here in orlando were having a field day w/ this because all of us see dozens of rocket launches a yr plus until recently several shuttle launches every yr. none of us could be convinced it was a plane LOL and the BS about changing course because of the change in contrail is wrong. even the shuttle, which there is no rocket bigger any longer [Delta V came close] is no longer used, has a contrail that changes course due to shifting winds and winds at different levels.

i didn't realize it was launched off the coast...even more interesting... just love hearing the 'experts' take, they can be soo oout of touch w/ the intellectual level of the masses LOLOL! ~ liz
