Thanks. I'm trying to stay optomistic. but i will admit that sometimes it's hard seeing the people who did get the jobs. It's not their fault but sometimes I think "You took my job" (lol)

Good thing I have the patience of a saint because I will wait forever to find what I am supposed to get. It's out there...I KNOW IT IS!!!!

Great attitude! You will be an inspiration to me as I start to pound the pavement. I'm in no huge hurry, but the guy I work for is planning retirement, so I have to start looking out for myself!

Yes, keep that positive attitude! Two recent stories you may find encouraging:

BF, early 50s, taught for years in our local school district in a grant supported area. She too was afraid that eventually her position would be cut due to funding and found a program in which she could get her masters in administration in 18 months and the district would pay most of the tuition. It was grueling while working full time, but she got her degree and began applying for administrative positions within the district as the opened. She had good encouragement from the district administration, but didn't get the first few. Then her dream job on her campus was posted and she got it. She's so glad she didn't get the earlier ones.

When the RE bust made DD's job less secure, she targeted the resort company in town because it had great benefits and opportunities for advancement. The first job posted when she began her search was her dream job. It was as manager of a division that had been outsourced for years and the company was bringing back in house. While she had some relevant experience, her experience was a little light for the job, he degree wasn't in the field, and she was a bit young for the level. She applied anyway, but didn't get an interview. The next job she applied for was a step lower supervisory position and she had a good interview, but didn't get the job. However, she was told that both previous jobs had been filled internally and was encouraged to apply for a couple of administrative assistant positions that were coming up. She did, and got the job as the admin asst to the dream job. As it turns out, the guy that got the dream job was great and because the whole division was new, he was just getting his feet wet and they really worked together as a team getting it up and running. Six months later he had a great opportunity out of state and when he left, he recommended her to senior management. Although it involved another wrenching interview process, in the end nine months after not even getting an interview for the dream job, it was hers!

Moral of both stories -- persistence plus a positive attitude works!

Keep your optimism! An interviewer can persevere what state your physic is in...whether you are defeated or not ...You WILL find a great job that was MEANT just for you! Then you will be so glad you did not get these others you applied for. Keep up your enthuastic and optimistic self..You will succeed! Keep believing in yourself and have that mindset when you go into your interview. That just right job will be yours!
