yogurt pie- I lost the recipe

I am almost positive I got it from this site. And I am positive I bought all the right ingredients (yogurt, same flavor Jell-O, Cool Whip, graham cracker crust). But I forget the amounts of water-to-jello and how much Cool Whip to mix in.

And I promised to send one to DD's class tomorrow morning. It's "Pie Day." Several pies are being sent in for the kids to sample. I think it also has something to do with learning fractions. Maybe. Maybe it's just for fun. ;o) Anyhow, I gotta make it tonight.

If you know what I'm talking about and can help, that'd be great. Otherwise, I will figure it out close enough. (Can't ever have too much Cool Whip, heh?)

Sounds like the one I use ...Here it is for Key Lime Pie but you can use any flavor..

Ingredients

1 package of lite lime jello
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
2 single serving containers of astro fat free key lime Yogurt

4 tbs ultra low fat cool whip

1 pre maid gram chracker pie crust

Instructions

1)emty jello contents in a bowld
2)add boiling water mix till jello is desolved
3)add cold water and mix
4)add yougurt and cool whip and mix with a wisk until blended
5)pur mixture into grahm cracker crust
6) Place in fridge or freezer until jello sets

Here is the recipe I was looking for..

8 ounces of Cool Whip
12 ounces of Key Lime yogurt
1 box of lime Jello
1 graham cracker pie crust

Prepare the Jello with half the amount of water as is directed on the box until you bring it to a boil. Let the liquid cool for at least two minutes. Pour into a medium mixing bowl to cool.

Stir in the 12 ounces of yogurt until well mixed. Add the 8 ounces of Cool Whip and spoon into the pie crust. Cool the pie in the freezer or fridge until firm.

**NOTE** You may substitute the Jello and yogurt for any flavor you desire. Also, I use sugar free Jello and fat free yogurt and Cool Whip, but any will do. It is a nice recipe that can be used as a dessert or snack.

no seysonn, you are not missing anything. My recipe takes more flour and no lemon. The pie is a custard type, but mine is firmer than any correctly made custard. Mine is a difficult pie to bake to the perfect consistency. Gooey enough without being too gooey. Center needs to be 'knife clean', but not stiff/chewy. This recipe was handed down to 1 person per generation, and I was that one. I handed it to my DIL when I realized that I wasn't remembering as well as in the past. Now that I've remembered, I need to save it on my hard-drive. If your a person that likes to try something different, try it.

Milk won't work if you are trying to cut fat content....but I'll bet non fat Cool Whip would....:-Q And maybe instead of lemon juice you could use 2 teaspoons of Cystal Light and some splenda instead of sugar....and how about egg beaters instead of the egg yolks and powdered merangue mix instead of the egg whites? And you have turned it into something with almost no fat, or sugar, no danger from undercooked eggs and no fuss with squeezing lemons. And a taste like something from the freezer section of the Acme.....and because so many have seldom eaten things with egg cooked slowly in a double boiler and fresh grated lemon rind, they might not know a difference. And that's how Grandma's lovely recipes get made into something using shortcuts, with not nearly the taste of Grandma's cooking...but because we have had so much bottled, packaged and frozen stuff...we don't mind the taste of stuff made with powdered herbs and canned fruit and vegetables and have forgotten what frozen lemon pie should taste like.....sigh... OK...off the soap box and copying and pasting it before I lose the recipe! Linda C

Years ago I tasted this pie. It's quite light. Maybe some chocolate curls folded in? Or chocolate syrup dribbled over spoonfuls of filling as the pie shell is filled? 8 oz. COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed 2 containers (6 oz. each) raspberry low-fat yogurt 1 ready-to-use graham cracker crumb crust (6 oz.) 1-1/4 cups fresh raspberries ADD COOL WHIP to yogurt in medium bowl; stir with whisk until blended. Spoon into crust. FREEZE 4 hours or until firm. REMOVE from freezer 15 min. before serving; let stand at room temperature to soften slightly. Top with raspberries just before serving. This might be similar. It's from the Griffin Food Co. Coconut Cream Pie 3 egg yolks 3/4 c. Griffin's Flake Coconut 1 c. sugar 1 c. evaporated milk 1 c. water 3 Tbsp. butter 1 Tbsp. vanilla 3 Tbsp. Flour 1 tsp. salt In a 2-qt. saucepan, beat 3 eggs. Turn on heat, add the milk and water. In a bowl, mix sugar and flour together and add to the egg mixture, stirring frequently. Add vanilla and salt and cook until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and add coconut and butter. Mix well and pour into a baked 9" pie shell. Meringue 3 egg whites 3-4 Tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. corn starch 1 c. Griffin's Flake Coconut In a mixing bowl whip at high speed 3 egg whites until stiff. To this mixture add sugar, vanilla and corn starch. Beat again until thoroughly mixed and put on top of the pie filling. Sprinkle coconut on the top of meringue. Bake at 375Â° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

My 9 y/o DD is going to help make that right now. We're making strawberry. I think she should really be able to pretty much do everything on her own except handle the boiling water. I'll just supervise. ;o)
