I second Windham Hill. You might try looking for regular albums of artists you enjoy listening to at Christmas. For example, I adore my Nat King Cole Christmas album and first got introduced to Perry Como via his Christmas album. Both artists have an extensive repertoire outside of their Christmas music. But with every artist, you're always going to get a mix of stuff you like and stuff you don't like. Back in the day I used to make "mix tapes" to listen to for that reason. I know I could do the same with digital downloads these days, but I no longer have the discretionary time that I once had, lol! Nor the time and money to buy and learn the new technology. BF and I enjoy Spotify and Pandora, which you can somewhat customize and tailor to your taste. You also get some of that same niche type playlist with satellite radio stuff but I don't have that either, just have listened to some channels on my dad's car radio.

Glad to see all of you on here today. Imagine we are all busy doing those little last minute things. I made three batches of peanut brittle today and bagged it all up to go to neighbors along with their other little gifts and to take to DS's house. We did the Christmas light tour last night--was windy and chilly so we had to bring out our coats, gloves and scarves! We parked the car and walked the two streets that were all decorated--so very pretty! We played Santa and delivered gifts to our neighbors. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful, friendly neighbors! We will be at DS's for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then a neighbor has invited us for a get together at their house on the 26th to celebrate their two son's and DIL being home safe and sound from Afghanistan. After Christmas, I need to go to Lowe's and get some more of the thinner wood. Went to trace a pattern and discovered that I am out of it. DH says I need to do more painting and crafts this coming year, says it's good for my morale. I think he just likes for me to be busy on a project because then I don't bug him with any "honey do" requests! LOL Belle, I think you got the bargain of the century! And it sounds so gorgeous too--and it's for a "girlfriend"? I think I'd be tempted to keep it for myself, not just because it is so pretty--but so I could show it off and brag about the great deal I got! LOL Anj, bless your heart, there's no way you will manage of week of "doing nothing" and "going nowhere". DH or the little ones will see to that! LOL But just maybe you can sneak in an extra hour of sleep a couple mornings, or maybe curl up in the afternoon for a nice nap--I love doing that! You always work so hard to make things just right for everyone--you're such a sweetheart. ;o) Punk, thanks for starting this post. I'm glad you are busy and having some fun. It's wonderful that your business did so well this year, and I know you worked long and hard to make it that way. Hope you will also have a few days off to be able to "rest up" a bit after the holidays. We heard from Bebe today too, so know she is doing okay and has been a busy bee making ornaments and such this year. Know they are looking for a Christmas miracle for their precious GS. I pray their wish comes true. I feel so good that the presents are wrapped and ready, neighbor gifts are delivered, and only a little more baking to do tomorrow. I think I'll go sit and enjoy the lights on the tree for a few quiet moments and then go to bed. Merry Christmas to each of you and to any other "sometime posters" and all our "lurkers" out there. I'm really looking forward to all the projects we will get to share on here after the holidays! God Bless Us Everyone! Luvs

For those of you who had trouble AND ONLY IF you had signed up for this by yesterday... there is an extension on making your book till the 22nd. You should have got an email, so check your junk/spam folder if you didn't get one.

OR I do have cables I can hook on the hard drive and transfer anything to a large stick drive I want to keep. my goodness shades! how do you do that? I got a new computer and now have to get my stuff off of this old one and onto the new one... do you know how to get things like 'favorites' list and the list of frequent sites used off of one? I hate to lose all of that and have to start over! there's a program called 'PC mover' but it really doesn't get great reviews! also, I'm looking for a tablet (or maybe even a laptop if cheap enough) for a friend who is also disabled. she is 60 and in recent yrs spent several months in a coma and just recently lost part of a lung. she is living with her mom (who is 88) now. she moved home yrs back to care for her dad when he was dying - it was after he died that she collapsed and went into a coma. I want something with big enough screen for failing eyesight (at our age) and good sound for our failing hearing... a keyboard (that clicks) or at least port to take one for typing emails. she'd most likely will only use for emails, skyping with her kids/gkids (and friends - me) and surfing on web. her kids/gkids are in another state. she has little (very little) money and I think it difficult to keep $s on her cell phone to talk much to kids/gkids/me. I don't like to pry too much about it. I have asked some on the phone and told her I'd be much more than happy to send her money to help with phone so we could talk more (and even for her to talk to her kids/gkids). I'm blest that long distance is no charge on my LL. She is concerned that if her mom dies the house will be sold and she'll have no where to live. She doesn't like either sister enough to live with...lol! i sure wouldn't want to live with either of my sisters! and doesn't want to go back to home state because it's too cold there (she's been in a bit warmer area for a number of yrs now). I will invite her to come live here - but not sure she will because it is so much farther away from her kids / gkids. they're just in the northern part of the state to the east of her now. anyway, any recommendations on what tablet to get her? I like the amazon fire hd 10 but it is so expensive with 32 gb. people tell me that with only 16 gb it isn't very useful. I do like that it has Alexa. that would be very handy for her! I'd like alexa myself. maybe i'll get me an echo dot down the road a bit. I'm not sure how good of a speaker the dot is tho. or even how anything connects to it. I got rid of my big 'ol wooden encased speakers when I moved into here. qvc had the tall echo on sale a few weeks back for about 100.00. great price but that's the first I'd heard of such a thing and I watched it just to learn about it.
