When my mom and dad lived with us before they went to Heaven they had denture problems and Mother had a choking thing so they had to eat soft foods.If I cooked something they loved but couldn't eat in it's original form,I just put it in the little food chopper and they ate it that way.Kind of like eating baby food I guess! They said the flavor was still there and it tasted good so that's all they cared about.LOL there were a lot of things that didn't sound (or look) very appetizing but they usually ate it.
Maybe you could make a soup out of the turkey and dressing and some of the veggies??? Never know till you try! LOL

I'll be thinking of you too. A friend had stomach stapling years ago, she was on high protein liquid diet for a long time. But she lost so much weight it was amazing.

BD, aren't you allowed solid foods yet? It seems your surgery was a long time ago. Can I ask how much you've lost? You don't have to answer. I hate your having to smell all that good Thanksgiving food and not be able to eat any of it. ((bulldinkie))

My sister who has lost 80+ lbs since having LapBand 2 years ago finds that she can eat a small amount of most things by taking tiny bites. Dressing and turkey both need lots of gravy. Cranberry sauce is easy.....and remember NOT to drink anything for at least a half hour afterwards. It REALLY makes a difference.

Yes, but think about what you will feel like after the weight comes off! I just had my last test for gastric bypass surgery today. What a pain in the butt. I had scheduled leave for the last week of November but there's no way I'm going to make it so I cancelled it. Now hoping for mid January. They've already submitted my paperwork to the insurance company. That was last week sometime, I think. All the appointments I've been going to I thought were for the insurance company are actually for the surgeon doing my bypass.

Could you mince up the turkey and mix it with mashed potatoes and gravy? Pureed vegetables should taste ok too. Take care of yourself. It will be worth it in the end, and we'll be thinking of you as well and hoping you have a great day with friends and/or family.

Yes I can eat solids sometimes 10 min after I eat it comes up.It is frustrating at times Something I can eat this week /i cant eat say next week.I just had a fill Thursday so its usually rough for few days.I had surgery April 21 I lost 32lbs.My dr raised my dry weight 2 kilos which is 4lbs4oz.because my bp is dropping alot during dialysis.

My cousin had gastric by pass surgery sept 28. just a little over a month ago. She has lost 30lbs thus far..She says it is really hard to drink the required amount of liquids and ended up dehydrated last week. She said it's a lot of work. The biggest change is her diabetes is no longer, and her other meds for other side affects of obesity are gone.That is the best outcome of all....she has about 70lbs more to lose.

They lose alot at first dr said its mostly fluid,Im surprised she got gastric thatsd usually for the really big people.My surgery the dr said I was as big as hed like but since Im haveing a transplant hell do it.
