What Are You All Doing This Weekend?

Cheryl, Kevin and Alyssa visited me today for awhile. Alyssa did some painting and then wanted to dance and sing for us so we were entertained before they took her to her house. I baked two pans of apple dumplings and Alyssa took a pan to her house. I am not sure what I am doing tomorrow, rain and high winds are predicted. What are the rest of you doing this weekend, hope you are all having a good one.

It's a warm and cloudy day here but all I want to do is hybernating. Watch TV and do some machine knitting maybe.

No plans for today, did some laundry and puttered around with little tasks that I have been neglecting due to nasty episodes of back spasms the last three weeks. The clutter fairy has been here junking up every nook and cranny it seems. It was almost 60 degrees outside, so I did go out to watch DH trying to make room in the shed and garage for all his 'stuff'.

Had email from daughter this morning who wanted to know if it would be ok with us if she comes over tomorrow afternoon with warm apple dumplings and ice cream. HUH?/!! Emailed her back to say I would be waiting at the door with fork in hand! No other plans, but I think I will try to get some ironing done...if my back lets me. Also have a couple new tops that need the sleeves shortened so I will try to get that done too.

I planted my english peas,cleaned up one really large bed. Cut back a brazillon clumps of ornamental grasses(in the really big bed)and got a nice blister on my finger thur heavy gloves. Cleaned off the driveway and patio. Set up our little "al fresco"(pardon my French....I don't speak it muchless spell it*G*)area again for the season where we sit and have coffee as the weather warms.....and watch neighbors acting the fool and boy were there ever some acting the fool in the middle of the road this passed weekend,Worked a little while in the GH. Sewed my tomatoes,tomatillos,peppers,eggplants and a few herbs and put together my materials for program on african violets I'm giving on Wed. I'm guessing your not interested in the housework I did....LOL FINALY LOCATED THE INSPECTION STATION MY LOST SEEDS FROM THE U.K WERE AT....YAY! Suppose to be 69 for most of the week w/ some clouds so I get to play outside some more after a day of nasty grey,windy,wet clouds. Peggy

On Sunday I was treated to a delightful day out. My DD, my DGD and her DH and my 11 year 0ld DGGS took me to the Riverside Center Dinner Theater, in Fredericksburg, VA. a pleasant two hour drive from here. The Center was built for the purpose and it is just lovely, with beautifully set tables, cosy lighting and tiered seating, so everyone has a good view of the stage. Some of the waiters are also actors in the play. The play? The Phantom! I have seen the movie (twice) but this production is based on Gaston Leroux's novel The Phantom of the Opera, which is considered by critics as eminently equal to its more famous Andrew Lloyd Webber's version. I have to admit my ignorance in that I did not know that, and I also learned that there was a movie in 1943, with Claude Rains, and Nelson Eddy. This was the most gratifying day I've had for a long time. I had had a rough time from January to May, health wise, and I'm still dealing with some of it. Today DH and I went out for breakfast before he went to work on afternoon shift. I made cheesy potatoes and then went to DD's for a second Thanksgiving dinner, as they postponed it there due to her FIL and niece being ill. Had a nice late afternoon and evening, then came home and got the Christmas card exchange list emailed out. So if you signed up this year, check your email! Oh, and I washed the living room and dining room windows inside and out, except for the big center window. I am NOT getting on a ladder outside in late November in Ohio! I had not planned on washing windows today, but since I kept knocking down the sheers in the front window last night, and the darned spiders keep making houses in the one window, I said to heck with the sheers and left them lay on the floor last night and just closed the drapes. The plan was to clean out the spider mess in that window, and just wash the insides, but the spiders and the window had to change my mind. I had to take the screens out (DH had to do it before he left for work, cause I couldn't get them loose) so I could tip the windows in to wash, because the spider nest went up with the window so I couldn't get to it. I need to do dishes, but I think they are going to wait. Tomorrow I have to go get tires put on my Expedition, and get it aligned.

Busy, but not hard work. My nephew is bringing my Mom part way to meet us for early easter lunch tomorrow. I have Easter baskets for them, will try to make it fun for her. Restaurant. He can't bring her Sunday (he's working) and my brother and his wife are out of town. We're making the 6-hr round trip in two weeks, hotel reservation, are hosting her 90th birthday party at her retirement center for her then so decided to keep it a little light this weekend. And there is mothers day two weeks after her birthday ;0) I have three Costco half hams in my refrigerator just purchased, and instead we're having oysters on Easter. A friend was coming from the peninsula this afternoon and picked up Hama Hama yearlings for me, always so good. It's forecast to be a nice day, maybe I can get some outside work done Easter afternoon. Our Spring has been so wet, I'm behind.... Idstarr, congratulations on the blood count!

Lazy day..
Breakfast...
Cleaning up after the clutter fairy here too..she's made an awful mess in my bedroom.
Started as a simple "looking for something misplaced" ended with a kitchen garbage bag full of trash, another full of donations..and a fair amount of recycled papers and cardboard.

Did NOT find that missing item!

I also caught up on the last two Once Upon a Time episodes I missed..Still have Wonderland to catch on..so those are on tap this weekend..

Hubby is off to a football tournament they are taking their 10/11 year olds too for the weekend.

I have heaping baskets of laundry..some baking and some other area decluttering that needs to be done...but not sure how far I will get with any of it. Kinda liking this lazy non demanding day..

And my plans are more of the same..few things done..but mostly..chillin.

I didn't know that the clutter fairy traveled like she does. All I have to do is turn my back and it's like trying to walk through a maze of stuff when I turn around again.

I visited with my sister in the Home. Also ran errands. Talked on the phone a while. Now, tomorrow is a different story. Rain is to move into Ohio later tonight. Along with high winds. I'll be staying indoors.

It's almost 4 pm, and I'm still in my pj's. Just been having a totally lazy day, and loving it. The BF just asked what was playing at the movies...I looked it up, and nothing that I want to JUMP up and get ready to see in a hurry.
He's been editing on the commercial we shot last weekend, and almost has it done, and it's coming out FANTASTIC! I honestly think we have a running chance. Now, wouldn't THAT be fantastic????
As far as I know, I start work on Monday, and I'm soooo not looking forward to it. Actually, I'm trying not to even think of it.
Everything that needs done, will get done.

Ran errands this morning, the it is football for the rest of the day. Gonna watch bama hopefully fall to MS State...got my fingers crossed!!

Tomorrow will hopefully finish up the valances for our bedroom.

Up early, had breakfast, turned on the TV to get the latest news. Nothing good. Dozed off in the recliner. Got on the computer to pay my property tax. Site down for updating. Called the newspaper office; not open on Saturdays. Bummer.

Played Free Cell for a while and my DD came in unexpectedly, bringing me GOODIES from the cupcake girl, who was supplying cupcakes for a celebration going on in town. Cream puffs, and cupcakes, and brownies, oh, my!

Then my DGS stopped in to see what was involved in a "handyman" job I need him for. I bought a new recliner on Friday, and it is sitting in the middle of the living room, in 2 pieces. Did you know some recliners come in 2 pieces now? He also needs to get the old one out of the back room and dispose of it. He also brought me a couple dozen sweet potato mini muffins his DW had made. He was on his way to work. He will be back, some time.

I did get a shower and wash my hair, and another little nap.

Just as I went into the kitchen to fix myself something for dinner, I had a call from a DNephew, in California. Always good to hear from these kids and remind each other of back when.

This was not a typical day for me, and how grateful I am when they happen. Cream puffs and helping hands, and a voice from afar. What could be better than that?

And, I repeat: how grateful I am for all these things.

So, that's what happened. I've been visited by the clutter fairy. Looks like there is no tidy fairy because s/he hasn't visited my home. Sigh....

MY DS came down on Friday. I baked a lemon bar on Friday. Friday night I made fudge with a cake mix. Saturday morning I dipped pretzels in almond bark. All of the food was for a tea that the CFEL clubs put on Saturday. Saturday night we went to the Snow Queen pageant. This morning we went to mass and then to a casino. Now we are just relaxing.

Friday evening was the first party for my DIL's 21st birthday...Last night her BFF gave her a party so I watched little Riley bear for the evening...I'm one tuckered grandma tonight!!
