peanut butter +velveeta = fudge

Now it's ready for the frig to chill!

Haven't made the peanut butter before. Have made the chocolate and it was delicious!

It's a Paula Deen recipe :o)

Plus I'm making her eclair cake.

Birthday dinner on Sunday, and I am COOKING !

I have a GF who has made the Velveeta Fudge for a few years now, she agrees with you and says its great stuff.

What else in on your Menu Ms G?

Ann, try saving it to your Clippings. Look to the right of your last post (just above this). You will see the word Clippings in green letters. Under that it will say Clip This Post. For each recipe or comment you want to save, click on Clip This Post. We had Meatloaf that was okay...DH wanted Beef stew. I hosted my Book Club today, so I was busy cleaning and making desserts. Made Key Lime Pie, Banana Bread and some little chocolate cream puffs. Everything was good, (banana bread was all gone) but the cream puff things were kind of so so IMO. Need to think about dinners for this week. I have some salmon that I could fix. And shrimp that needs to be cooked, but other then that...

This is so easy and so very good. It is quick and easy for the busy holidays. FORT WORTH PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE 2 sticks butter (real butter) 2 cups chocolate chips 1 16-oz jar crunchy or extra crunchy peanut butter (I use JIF) 1 lb. box powdered sugar Put butter and chocolate chips in a large glass bowl and place in microwave. Microwave on high for 1 minute; then stir mixture well. If chips are not totally melted return to microwave and run on high for another 30 seconds. Remove and stir well. Put the peanut butter in the chocolate mix and stir well. Add box of powdered sugar and mix thoroughly. It gets tougher to stir once you have added powdered sugar so need some muscle. When thoroughly mixed, spray a 9 x 13 pan with Pam (or equivalent) or you can butter the pan well. Put fudge in the pan and spread out evenly. Place in refrigerator overnight. When ready to cut fudge into squares, remove from refrigerator for 30 minutes or so before cutting.

Can you cook it a bit longer? Here is the recipe I found. CARNATION 5 MINUTE FUDGE 2/3 c. Carnation milk 2 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 c. white sugar 2 c. miniature marshmallows 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1 c. chocolate chips 1 tsp. vanilla Put milk, sugar, butter in saucepan, heat to boiling(238 ÃÂºF on a Candy Thermometer). Cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add marshmallow, nuts and chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir until marshmallows are melted and smooth. Pour into buttered platter or pan. Cool, then cut into squares. Cooks Note: A Candy Thermometer is recommended for best results

That sounds so strange. I like Velveeta AND peanut butter but it's hard to imagine them together. I'll have to look up that recipe.

It IS strange sounding but makes a wonderfully heavy smooth fudge.

nookie :o( I'm not making the coq au vin :o( I'm Paul Deening it with almost everything.

I DID save and definitely will make SOON, plus your recipe is the one I will use. Thanks!

I can't even begin to imagine what that tastes like.I like velveeta cheese,and i like PB,have never in all my years heard of mixing the 2 to make fudge.I'll just have to take your word on that.LOL,LOL

I made this last year, it was soooooo good! Took a batch to work and there were no leftovers...And Glenda's right - it's nice and smooth!

I halved the recipe and use the Velveeta block.
Just cut it up and half the amt filled one of those round tins full.

Paula Deen's Peanut butter Velveeta Fudge
1/2 pound sliced easy-melt cheese (recommended: Velveeta)
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts
2 (16-ounce) boxes confectioners' sugar
Directions
Lightly spray the bottom of a 9 by 2-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt cheese and butter together, then add peanut butter and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts.

Empty confectioners' sugar into a large bowl and pour cheese mixture over sugar. Stir until completely mixed. Candy will be very stiff. Use your hands to squish everything together.

Using your hands, remove candy from the bowl and press evenly and firmly into the pan. Because of the amount of butter in this recipe, pat top of candy with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Place the pan in refrigerator until candy is firm.

To serve, cut into squares.

I just watched her make that on TV yesterday.I can't imagine cheese in fudge but I may just try it during the holidays.Sure sounds easy enough.

You never know it has Velveeta in it! Even if someone tells you, you STILL don't taste it.

Took some to my friend, this afternoon, and she and her DH LOVED IT!
