This is so close to the French Canadian dressing/stuffing my friend stuffs her turkey with.
This is NOT her recipe, but it sounds so close. She's too busy with company for me to call her.
Her sister was there and sometimes they said there were two or three kinds of ground meat. No bread.
Really really tasty!
French Gorton
2 # fresh ground pork
1 small onion diced
1 1/2 c water
1 teas Allspice
1/4 teas ground cloves
Cook pork, onion and water together. Add salt & pepper to taste. Stir often to break meat up into fine pieces. Add Allspice and ground Cloves. About 1 hour later stir again. Cook for at least 1 more hour on a very low flame.
