I found some for myself at TJMaxx for less than $10. You can buy some handmade ones at Etsy.com, I've seen them at Target too... they are popular this year.

I should definitely look into these gloves as a gift to myself to wear indoors. I have Raynaud's and my hands are freezing all winter long, even in the house.

LOVE my fingerless gloves -- even for wearing around the house, or as an added layer underneath bulkier gloves while outdoors. I bought mine on Etsy (they are fleece), and am looking for additional pairs in different colors.

Gave a pair to my brother last year - he loves them too!

Son bought me some that expose most of the fingers when operational ...

... and there's a mitt that folds back when not needed and attaches near the wrist with Velcro.

I ordinarily run temp. in the house about 60 (was 56 a few days ago ... and 46 last evening ... tried unsuccessfully to turn on furnace).

Landlord, capable mechanically, came and checked it - no dice.

He wanted to have immediate service call from his fuel dealer (who out-places the maintenance stuff) but I said that both I and the dog could survive the night, with some electrric heaters. Furnace guy got it going this morning: $99.00 service call.

Sometimes I aim an electric heater toward the computer, and I find that I like to pin two ends of one edge of a washcloth together to slip over my wrist and I let my hand operate the mouse in comfort under the washcloth.

I plan to try knitting some fingerless gloves for a charity project for homeless kids in San Francisco. I keep putting it off and just knit them more hats, but I really must get to it for next year's batch.

I clipped the fingertips off an old pair of mittens and I wear them when I'm on the computer.

One of these days I'm going to order a heated keyboard...

I made me some finger gloves without the finger tips. Perfect for typing at the puter.

With arthur around, my joints hurt when they get cold, but with them, I can still type really good.

Woody has been using gloves like those, with the flip back mitten, for years for hunting.

Several years ago, I bought a few shirts that have built in fingerless gloves attached, with a thumb thing included. They come in real handy sometimes if I have to be out in the cold.

I've been thinking of trying to kit some for quite a while, so your post spurred me on to log onto free patterns central.com and i printed out a couple patterns. It seems like a fun, small and quick project to knit. I have an easy day ahead of em today so I'll start them in a little while. I have oodles of partial skeins of yarn.

You can buy a pair of those inexpensive $1.49 magic gloves and undo the fingertip seam, then use a blanket stitch to keep them from fraying. One of the girls I used to work with did that for all the cashiers because it was so cold in the store, we couldn't handle the money. LOL
