I've had an iPhone for 3+ years (first the 3G, and now the 4G) and have never had a battery go dead.

I have friends with Droids, and they like them - I love my iPhone, but absolutely detest having to deal with iTunes. iTunes, to me, makes zero sense. I don't "get" it - and I'm tech-savvy!!!

My DD has both (one personal, one for work) and likes them both. But she has a slight preference for the Droid. I'm not sure why, so maybe this comment isn't very helpful to you. :-)

I have an LG Ally phone with the latest version of Android.

I refuse to buy Apple products, never have - probably never will. They are overpriced and have a history of problems and bugs.

I've had a couple iPhones and DH has one as well. We've never had any problems with the battery. We've been very happy with the iPhones - even with AT&T. Very simple to use and intuitive. A lot of people I work with have Droids. Techy people seem to prefer Droids because they are not as proprietary and locked up like iPhones - more freedom to do what you want vs. what Apple wants you to do.

I have some friends who have Droids - that's what their engineer kids recommended for them. They do just about nothing with their smartphone other than talk, text and email. I'm not sure if it's just because they're tech challenged in general or because Droids are not as intuitive for non-technical people.

Having worked in the software industry for a long time I think there are definite advantages with a company that controls both the software and the hardware platform as Apple does with the iPhone.

The Apple retail stores are a nice concept if you happen to have one nearby. You can make appointments online for the Genius Bar and they will help you with questions or problems. In general I find they provide great service in their stores. I think that's a big plus over going somewhere like Best Buy for example. A friend of mine just got her first smartphone yesterday - an iPhone from the Apple store. She had a great experience there as well.

That probably explains my daughter's preference. She works in IT. :-)

My husband has a Droid, I have a Droid 2, my DD has a Droid Global and my son just bought an IPhone and returned it to Verizon within a few days because he didn't like the size. And he's the only IT in our family.

I must confess that one of the reasons we got the Droid is the price was perfect and the reviews were excellent. I can't say anything negative about the Iphone other than I'm another person who is slightly anti-Apple.

I have, and love, my iPhone. I had a blackberry for years, had a love hate relationship with it (I loved to hate that piece of technical crap!), it flew across the room more than once. The iPhone is so easy to use, as said above, it is intuitive. I did buy a book titled iPhone 4, the missing manual, and it is great. I have few issues with the battery life, I just learned to charge it every other day, but I seldom use it as a phone, it is mostly for email from my boss and texts to our contract workers. I am on an unlimited data plan with Verizon, was grandfathered in on it, but it sure isn't cheap.

My girlfriend has a Droid and she loves it as well. I like Apple products and am looking forward to getting an iPad.

I can't wait till June when I can finally get an iPhone. I am very much PRO Apple. Love, love, love their products. Tried a Droid a while ago and just couldn't get the hang of it...the widgets and all. I'm sure with my extensive use of iPods, iPads, etc, the iPhone will be almost instinctual.

I'm not too excited about it but I'm trying not to make a big fuss. He's all excited about buying it for me. He thinks I will love it.

Maybe I will after I get used to using it. I hate changes and I really hate not having the keyboard. His phone has the on screen keyboard, and I don't like it at all.

I really like my old Palm Pre... but it was discontinued quite awhile ago.

I recently upgraded to IPhone 4 and love it. My biggest objection to the Droid is that it is much thicker and heavier than the IPhone. I guess I'm also pre-justice because I'm a Mac Girl. I am with Verizon.

Droid all the way would not consider anything else. I have 2 HTC Inspire 4G smartphones and we love them. nice big screen. does everything we want, not a problem with them, good battery life. Tons of apps to use. Extremely easy to use even my husband can use this phone!

Just went from a four year old Razr to a droid Bionic. Tech son just went from iPhone to a droid. Being able to change the battery was a big plus for me - I keep my phone a long time. The droid Razr was too light for me. The Verizon store at Woodfield Mall was amazingly helpful. The one where I live makes me hate going there.

Love my Droid. I left Verizon for T mobile. Got the Samsung Galaxy. I wanted something small and lightweight.

More than enough phone for my needs but I love the capabilities. If I want more I can always root it down the line.

I'm getting the new iPhone4S. My bosses and I work closely together and I do a lot of videos and picture taking that I send directly to him. We need to be in sync so I want us all to have them to save time. Having all the features I need on one piece of equipment is heaven. Apple gives great classes. I think you take 2 for the iPhone. It wouldn't matter to me if we got a Droid or the iPhone. I like to keep up with the technology and use it full force.

Ravencajun's advice I would take without hesitation as I have followed her advice on the tech sites here. Buy what she buys and you can't go wrong. She has done her homework.

My whole family loves the iPhones, but it's personal choice. I thought I had a battery problem with mine, it seemed to die too fast. I was told to change settings, like back light etc, and that helped a lot. You also have to remember to close the apps by holding them down at the bottom and touching the red minus sign. Things like that keep the battery strength up.

I love my Droid. It's a great little computer :-) It's not so great a phone though... sound quality on the calls leaves a lot to be desired. But that probably varies a lot from model to model (company to company). I'll check that out better on my next phone. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I'd love the iPhone just as much.

what jel48 said...I'll ditto. In my IT dept research...we had the option of choosing iPhone or Droid.
The same information was given to us...The Droid has a great operating system, but can sometimes be lacking in the phone quality.
Because I work in sales, I decided first and foremost I needed it to be a good phone. The iPhone so far has done everything and more after 3 weeks of ownership.
