Send a Prayer/Good thoughts for Little Bradley!!

He has just gone into surgery to hopefully remove the entire tumor on his spine.

I will try to let you know what I know during the day, but I will be away from the puter this afternoon....so, others that are on his CarePage, if you would add to this post for others to keep up, I would appreciate it!

Enjoy your day.....and please say a Prayer or send special thoughts for a sweet little 4 year old going through all these cancer treatments AGAIN!

I will continue with the positive thoughts and prayers for Bradley. He has been so often in my thoughts.

The funeral was this morning. It was beautiful, & it was the most heartbreaking thing I ever saw. Beautiful church, with beautiful flowers in tiers upon tiers, filling the entire end of the sanctuary where the pulpit was.. & 4 caskets, 1 just about half the size of the others. 3 ministers, 4 eulogies, 1 for a 6-year-old & 1 for a 3-year-old. What can you say in a eulogy for a first-grader? for a toddler? They said Michael was smart as a whip & loved the water & asked pointed questions & never met a stranger. They said little Landon was born in perpetual motion & brought a smile to every face. & Landon, a surprise baby, may have saved his mother's life: Had she not had a sonogram, the cancer that was growing inside her might not have been discovered until too late. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, & good wishes. It means a lot to me & to my family.

Update added: We went down and saw my new nephew Aiden. What a little cutie. He is in the nursery full time and has an IV in his poor little head running all the time. This evening though they finally got to put him into his mama's room so that is good news. They left the port in his head just in case they need to use it again. The funny thing is that he looks just like Hayden, the two can be twins. I feel for my sil, her mom is totally mean and driving her nuts and is no help at all. She was going to stay for a month to help out, and with the babies problems she will need the extra help but out of the blue said good bye last night and no one has seen her since. My sil overcompensates by saying that she will just figure it out on her own. She hasn't been around babies and only has 2 weeks maternity leave, 2 days gone already. I hope to go down on Sunday when they get home and snuggle that baby. I will post a pic in a new post when DH gets the pics downloaded. Stacie

sorry the pic is fuzzy, she was moving fast! She keeps very busy eating (but still no yogurt; vickie's family must not be the only non-yogurt-eating critters!), playing, & sleeping. & growing: She likes to sit in my lap while I'm at the computer, & she's already so long that I have to sit on one edge so her back end can rest on the other side of the chair!

I hope she continues to improve. As a vet, I am very careful to give every patient a thorough risk assessment and vaccinate only for those diseases that show high risk. Even so, I still have had a few vaccine reactions. The risk of reaction needs to be less than the risk of actually contracting the disease. I never vaccinate indoor only cats for FeLV, and after a year of age I don't even vaccinate the outdoor kitties for it either. OTOH, any dog who gets groomed or boarded on a regular basis keeps the bordetella vaccine updated every 6 months. Which rabies vaccine was used in Bindi? The recombinant rabies vaccine is considered safer than the killed vaccine because of the addition of adjuvents in the killed vaccine. I am just curious because currently the hospital where I work has only the killed rabies vaccine, and I am pushing to get the recombinant one for cats.

Doctors nurse just called & doctor needs to talk to us...let's just pray its good news & bradley is fine...

Just got this email:

the doctor got the bulk of the tumor and there were some crevices that it started to grow in that he scraped so there are some remaining cancer cells. he said he didn't cut thru anything major so he's hoping that if he has any peralysis that it will be temporary. they are stitching him up right now and they are hoping that he doesn't have to go to icu but that has yet to be determined. so the goal right now is to get him better asap and get the radiation started to kill off the cancer cells that remained. the doctor noted that it did not grow back in the brain. he said it was kind of funny that right where the proton therapy ended the tumor began. he said the proton must have worked! so amazing.
