There are too many to count for me. The old folk songs like "Green Green Grass of Home" sung by Joan Baez or "Who Will Watch the Home Place" sung by Laurie Lewis come quickly to mind. The one below written by Tom T Hall who has a way with words is a more current favorite. Simple accompaniment to a gentle singing voice, to me makes the lyrics more special.

One of my favorites is "He Will Lift You Up On Eagles Wings" which a soloist sang at a funeral yesterday. Another is "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton; he wrote this after his child died.
