This doesn't exactly follow the theme of colorful nature. But I ran across it this morning, and it made me smile. When my son and DIL lived here for a while, Pogo would sometimes join them at the breakfast table, looking hopeful.

Kathi, Weir Canyon is inside Irvine Park. If you know OC, Irvine Park is at the very inland end of Jamboree Road.

That hike was in March after some significant rains so everything was green and lush and wildflowers were in bloom everywhere. I can't wait for next spring to do it all over again!

Ok, nicole, where is this "local lake"? In Co. Springs? I'm the one whose DS, DDIL & 4 young GKs are moving to Woodland Park in Dec.--- I'll be visiting and I want to see that lake! GORGEOUS photo! :-) Pat

drewsmaga.....that's Prospect lake. They launch balloons over it @ the annual balloon festival

I think you'd enjoy Manitou Lake or Twin Lakes a lot more! :0)

Pat.....I meant to say it's Prospect lake in Colorado Springs. Manitou Lake is a LOT prettier and right outside Woodland Park. Twin Lakes is farther away, but Spectacular!
