I am still always amazed at the change in weather so quickly. I am so glad you are okay from it, you can come stay with me here in Phoenix where it is sunny all day with a high of 80 during the winter and low of about 60.

When our monsoon seasons hit in August and September, watch out! They will uproot huge trees and split Mesquite trees in half. We were fortunate not to lose any plants this year, but I have seen some pretty gnarly wind/dust storms roll through.

Here in CO we had 80 degrees one day, and a snow storm two days later. It's back into the mid 60's now....

Hey, on the upside, it's Nov. 1st and we're all still here--in spite of the predictions of disaster and the bad weather and geographical conditions of the past 6 months. I'm just hoping the religious kooks that have been telling us the world was going to end will take a break now, now that they've had two dates come and go without incident.

My take is that the weather changes--it goes through cycles. I've learned in my decades here that some years are wet, some are dry. Some hot, some cold. Some stormy, some calm. And every so often they throw in something extreme--like unexpected tornadoes, floods in areas that usually don't or earthquakes. And now and then a bunch of those things happen in close time proximity. We're obviously going through an unsettled stretch, but as weather does, this will pass.

I just have to think that we have really pi$$ed off Mother Nature, just like the old butter commercials. Someone, somewhere is trying to send us a message. We are destroying our world, with what we are doing to it and what what we are doing to one another.

I think the earth is just doing what it's always done but now there are just 7 billion people in the way!!!

Bigbaby--AND we've got a gazillion 24-hour news and weather channels making sure we don't miss a single catastrophe! That's the biggest change I've seen in the weather over the years!

There are some very odd things happening here. Last week I found a (fresh) dead deer carcass in the front yard, this week the 3 kittens we were trying to tame and capture disappeared, and there are no birds at the feeders. There is a bunch of drilling going on around here, I think they have disrupted the normal way of things and the wildlife is shifting and moving around.
