What is a good at-home bikini wax?

I just don't try to do it at home any more. So much easier to have it done at the spa.

I don't consider myself a beginner at all and wouldn't spend money on any of those plants you mentioned and I have a big yard with many options for sun exposure that you probably don't have in NYC. I haven't tried the zebra plant, but have quickly killed the other 3 in the past. No doubt it was my fault and ignorance about the plants' needs. But since I have so many other plants that do so well, it seems I've learned that these do not do well in the conditions I have to offer. Your taste in pretty leaves seems similar to mine, so I might suggest some others (in addition to the excellent suggestions already made, sorry if any of these are dupes) that are pretty but much easier to keep in captivity... any of the Dracaenas, Syngonium, cane or wax Begonias, parlor palms.

Question becomes what will cause wax and water to emulsify and what would the ratios be? We can read what is done on a commercial scale, but I want to know what I can do with my citrus in my own back yard. I want the citrus to stay hydrated/fresh for at least a couple months not a couple weeks. The link below, although dated 2003, is fairly easy reading and is comprehensive about the reasons for certain pre and post harvest remedies on a commercial scale. There are more up-to-date studies that go into the discussion of coating mixtures -- but so far as I've read, wax seems to be the pivotal ingredient. From reading the link (below) I have a much better understanding of pre and post care of citrus, (such as the use of copper for preharvest, and using bleach in the cleaning process), careful handling and general good hygiene. If you want to avoid resanding and the amount wood it will remove from the surface, look into DuraSeal Renovator. Waxed floors are generally sealed or stained, then waxed. Wax should be cleaned periodically with mineral spirits, after which one applies a thin coat of wax and buffs the floor. Renovator acts like mineral spirits, but with the sealer. If your floor is a candidate for it, you would use the Renovator, then wax and buff the next day. It may not work with your sealer so test a discrete area first. Floow the directions and let the material sit and work before removing. It can also be color keyed with a DuraSeal stain. https://www.duraseal.com/products/maintenance/renovator-cleaner-reconditioner/ Floors that are worn out usually have splintering along the edges, above the groove where the wood gets thin and fragile. If you don't have any splintering, your floor is probably a candidate for resanding, regardless of how many years it's been there. Some sanders see nail heads in the joints and pronounce the floor dead. Yours was probably nailed by hand with 2" long cut nails. I've been told that installers could start a nail on the first strike and set it on the second. The nails aren't driven as well as with a mechanical nailer and of course they could have worked loose over the years.

That seems silly to me,,,,there is not much to a bikini to start with,,if you wax it that will make it slippery and you run the risk of what little you have will slip off.

LOL, Lazy - my thought exactly! When I was a LOT younger, I tried this exercise and after a short while, decided I wasn't that committed to my original thoughts on this topic!!!

Love it, Lazy! I tried Mr. Zogs Sex Wax that they use on surfboards, you're right, it slid right off before I got in the pool!

Thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a try!

Forget the wax, get a Bikini Touch. I got it at walmart, it's fast & easy no problems at all, $10. or less
You can take it anywhere.

I am glad I grew up in an era where maybe a bit of trimming was all that was necessary. Having nice hair was womanly.
