Go to Target, purchase "Folex". It's in an unsightly white bottle with purple letters. I would advertise for this company if they asked! It's made for carpets but I use it on my suede couches, shoes, rugs, clothes, curtains, car interiors, etc. So far it has cleaned every bit of anything that was considered a "mistake"; wine, clay, blood, mustard, everything. It contains no harsh chemicals. You spray on, rub around with finger tips, then blot up with a paper towel. So far, nothing has faded. The only downside - I spot cleaned my Berber carpet - we actually had to have a cleaning crew come in and do an entire house cleaning because we had "new carpet" in all the spots I cleaned. It made the rest of the house look dingy! Happy Cleaning,

I have never framed needlepoint myself, but I have finished other people's canvasses by making them into pillows, Christmas stockings, etc. What you're proposing is just trimming and folding the canvas. Really bad idea. The canvas you are stitching is either taped or hemmed along the edge. If you cut away the hem or tape, the canvas WILL ravel right up to your stitching. You need some sort of edge finish. If you put the piece into an actual frame, you would block the canvas and wrap the excess around some sort of backing - acid free mat board, foam core, or something. If you're making a wall hanging, you still need to block the piece, and then back it with some sort of fabric and add a hanging sleeve.

There are dwarf cultivars of the American, but I know zero about them. I do know the Nelly can grow 3-5 feet per year and saw some absolutely gigantic ones in town. I had even found an Edward male for her....hard to come by. I checked around here a few times for American holly and all folks could do is either get something called green leaf (I think that was it) or recommend Savannah instead. I sure could just move the hollies I already have, but thinking they will just be too darn big and limit the diversity I can have due to them taking up so much room. I was hoping to use the 3 Brodies in a grouping, since they'd make for some great cover, host the juniper hairstreak and, among others, attract cedar waxwings.
