Old bad eyes here, too. Don't like the font or the light gray. There are magazines I stopped subscribing to for the same reason. At least when I read online with my iPad I can make the print as big as I want lol!

Dont like it with the light font why not use old tried and true dark black Another internet forum going down the drain I'm afraid thanks for the heads up if it aint broke dont fix it imho

seagrass Iagree with you on the magazines. It seems they want to win designer awards for layout and presentation but forget about the readers imho

I like this way better.

I guess they never got the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" memo. I can't imagine why they'd switch to a pale font. Did they really think it would be easy to read?

Which font do you dislike, Raven? I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, but to me the new fonts look like the current ones, one of the sans serifs. The one on top that reads Milkweed looks pretty to me.

I kind of like it--more concise. It looks to me like only the poster's name and the date/time are in the lighter font.

the font on the title of each post on the main page maybe it is just smaller but it looks more boxy.
Yes I have to enlarge everything these days to read it too.
I hate magazines and online articles that use a light color text on white it is very difficult to read for me. I know there are some add ons for firefox that allow you to change a lot of that stuff.

I checked it out and did not care for it. I sort of like the way it is here.

I find it easier to read except for the gray type. GW has changed a number of times over the many years I have posted here. I always hate it at first and then get used to it. I'm one of those who resists change, so I am trying to get over that. Wonder when it will happen on this side.

I like having the search box up top. Other than that, I have to ask:

WHY?

Why change the overall look of the threads, with that hard to see gray color? That is a very bad idea, not at all an IMPROVEMENT.

Sue

Didn't like the colors either. But it did have a box with links to recent posts. Just a reminder, there is a 'Contact Us' link on the bottom of every page.....use it!!!!
On your computer, just hold the CTRL key and rotate the scroll knob to enlarge the print.

I don't like that the number of replies is over to the right. I like seeing instantly how many people replied to a topic. The colour changes when you click on it, but I think it's not vivid enough.

A lot of forums do that particular format, but to me, it looks dated. I like this look, at the Table

They just changed this forum within the past year. Would they do it again?

My thoughts exactly BLFenton

They may not, no idea. I was wondering why the change was made though. Might just be a test. I also think it looks like a much older style format than what we have currently. Every forum on the internet has it's own quirks and features and formats.

Squint ... squint!

I've experienced with many large companies (this site is owned by NBC Universal), the meaning conveyed by the words "improve" and "change" often is the same.

So when a new person takes over responsibility for something, or if someone is assigned a task to makeover something like a website, it's viewed as an accomplishment if it is changed. It may not be improved, and it may in fact be worse in some ways, but if the work done makes it different, that's rewarded.

Change has been with us for ages.

Sometimes for the better ... sometimes not.

And now ... the change is speeding up ... at breakneck speeds.

Not my neck, I hope.

What's wrong with what we have now???? It works fine. Search box switch is ok, but not a big deal. No, I prefer what we have now.
