yup, thats all I have, my memories. I can remember our last conversation, what we were watching on tv, our clothes we were wearing. Everything! It's like its burned in my mind forever.

This is part of the memorian I put in our local paper.

"I miss all our talks and your smile. But all those memories I have on file. So for those days it hurts so much, I sit and dream and feel your touch."

Six years can go so quickly. I know because it's been seven years since I lost my daughter, and it seems like nothing. I had a wonderful dream visit from her two nights ago. I wish the same for you, with your dear Al.

I am so sorry, I lost my husband 24 years ago with a massive heart attack at the age of 42. He had spent 22 years in the Marine Corps and didn't know he had any heart problems. I have flowers ready to take to the cemetery today also. I will say a prayer for you. Betty Jo

My first wife was just 42 when I lost her to ovarian cancer. But, like arosegirl says, the memories are wonderful.

I understand the pain as I lost my first husband in a car accident when our son was a baby; I lost our son 2 years ago in a car accident. Strength comes from faith and the love of those around us. God bless you.

I am so sorry for everyone's lossed. My in laws were married on Nov 27 1941, just before Pearl Harbor. This would have been their 67 th anniversary. They are both in Heaven, together since 2005.

liira, I'm sorry for the pain your feeling today. I know the feeling too. My DH was 52 when he passed away. I can still picture it happening too, as if in slow motion. The image is there forever.

I'm feeling the recent (June 21,2008) loss of my DH today too. My Prayers will be with you as you go through the day, that your memories will comfort you. Right now, my memories kind of hurt..but I know one day they will warm my heart!

I'm so sorry for all your losses, especially, you Bumpkin, because this is your first holiday season without your husband. I lost my husband in a motorcycle accident 22 years ago when he was just 27. My father died from cancer two months after that. Just lost my mother recently. I feel it all very keenly this year, since my mom just died, and I say a little prayer for everyone missing their loved ones during the holidays.

I miss my Daddy, gone 6 years this month. Also the loss of my only brothers, Richard and Gary.

I still have Mama...she's just teeny tiny with COPD, Emphysema and CHF so very bad...but she's still here to give me hugs...:o))

I wish I could do more than just say I'm thinking of you and I'm sorry. Anything frustrating thing my kids or husband does just melts away when I think of such painful losses. I will remember to just be grateful to hug them all today.

Lira and all of you who are feeling the loss of a loved one, my heart goes out to all of you. On 12/12, it will be 1 year since my mom passed away.

As hard as it's been losing both my parents, I don't think the pain could be close to losing a mate, your best friend. I'm praying for all of you tonight.

I agree Sadie. Losing one's spouse has to be the worst. I watch my Mother struggle with her grief. It breaks my heart right in two, she is home bound now and can't do much for herself. She will say, "if only your Daddy was still here". I agree...if only Daddy were still here!

I can also relate to your pain. I lost my husband, 18 months ago, to cancer of the pancreas - he had just celebrated his 53rd birthday. He was scheduled to retire, three weeks from when he died, after 30 years of sweat and hard work at his job.

He had the world on his side, but alas it wasn't to be. I miss him so very much every day, and dream of our times together every night - the pain hasn't lessened.
