the big thing on my retina has not gotten any bigger

and has not changed in appearance! Had my appointment
Monday with the U of W retina specialist. They still want
to do a biopsy, because no one has a clue what it is. this
doc has done only 5 or 6 biopsies on retinas. Um, I
don't THINK so! So until it changes, we are just watching.
I don't have to go back for 6 months this time!

I once had a doctor tell me the best medicine is "tincture of time", meaning some things just take a long time to heal. Not to say, ignore every symptom, but most things do get better on their own. Hope your eye clears up soon!

That's good news. Have you considered getting to a top eye hospital like Wills Eye for a second opinion? Their drs are some of the nation's highest rated. I would never have anything done to my eyes except either there or by one an opthalmologist who trained there (luckily, I live across the river, and most eye drs around here studied at Wills, and almost all of the eye surgical centers are associated with the hosptial). Their website is wonderful for info, as well--you might want to check it out.

Just popping in to say hi! been working 10-11 hr days and have not had much puter time to check forums and emails---thus full mailbox!!! My neighbor told me about that today--his emails kept coming back!! Just deleted 598! Should be good for awhile! LOL! I have tried to get some gardening time in on the weekends and making a little progress, but so much to do other than gardening, like the crappy house cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping etc. Why can't the house just clean itself? And the clothes stay clean? And food just STAYS even after you take something out to cook? And the pets feed themselves? Well-guess I just gota do what I can! LOL! I have a complaint in on KatzKountryKuttins in the paypal resolution area and waiting to find out what they will do. Will get on the forum when I can--In the meantime I wish you all happy gardening! Hi Everyone! Thank you for your replies!!! "how you know what he likes? he smiles, i suppose?" Haha . . . wouldn't that be funny if they could smile? lol. Actually I have tried to show him a mirror but he doesn't seem to care. Although it could be because of the glass... I had him in a beautiful 2 gallon tank, it looked like a goblet (tj maxx, God bless that place!!!). But I had cleaned out his tank with soap and water one day, I hadn't got all of the soap out because when I poured in the fresh bottled water it made bubbles, so I took the tank over to the sink and leaned over it while I rinsed it with the sprayer and it shattered!!! So I ran to walmart as quick as I could (of course that was the night I was having company over for dinner!! It always works that way doesn't it?) and I found a huge glass canister. The glass is kind of thick so I need to make a run to Homegoods or TJ Maxx again so Rockefeller (my Betta's name) can have a classy home again, haha . . . I will try picked up some brine shrimp next week (not sure what they are but I will ask the pet store!) I think my hubby would get a kick out of watching Rockefeller try and eat them, haha . . . . I will too! Hmmmmm.... a manicure sounds nice! Maybe I'll do that on my way to get the Shrimp! lol. Oh as for telling the genders apart, I don't know anything about fish but what I did notice was . . . . Males are usually very vivid colors with long flowy tails and females are lighter pastel like colors with shorter tails. Also, he does come up to my finger when I press it against the tank. Showing -10F here this weekend. Nothing for around here, but still cold. I think our coldest temp this winter was around -14F. Usually we get a -20F ... hopefully we sneak by without that happening. My fruit trees will have a much better bloom. Last year was nasty. I ended up with 1 ! sweet cherry ... Snow falling now. Noticed how warm it has been out west. South Dakota (Black Hills) have seen temps in the mid 70Fs several times this year already. Amazing warmth. Phoenix has been in the 80Fs for the past week or so and the extended keeps them in the 80Fs... Hot west, Cold east... back and forth in the middle (here).

Wow what a lovely plan. You must be very excited. Must the entire house be done all at once? I believe everyone who has done a minor update in their home (half bath ) to a giant full home renovation has to go through the dreaded Want vs Need list. Each person or corporation doing a renovation must figure out their budget and what they want to spend on their project.. Some people have unlimited funds but even those folks put together a plan. Do you have a General contractor or is your architect doing both? Sometimes a GC can really help control costs and help control the scope of a project and stay within budget. With that said, is your scope itemized or listed in sections per price? Your contractor/architect could probably help you figure out how to trim costs and to even do things in sections. What has your architect suggested? I would go through your list of wants vs needs and see which falls into place. Sometimes it is about deciding the structure (basement) of the house is more of a need while the La Cornue Grand Palais range is more of a want. I wonder if filling in the basement might end up being the cheaper option in the end? With a smaller basement you could make your entire project smaller. So much to think about but I am sure you can do it! You are on your way to making your dream home a reality.

I also believe in second opinions! If they don't know what it is, would they consider referring you to the National Eye Institute (part of the National Institutes of Health)? There is no better place in the world for medical treatment, and it is completely free!

(And if you are lucky enough to get accepted there, you can stay with me while you are getting treatment.)

He says that they would expect it to be my nh lymphoma, or
melanoma. And they are usually either black or white.
Literally, black or white. And mine is gray. He is a
retinal specialist from the U of Washington. If it does
change, I would have to have a biopsy, and I would def. get
another opinion. I've seen 2 retina specialists and
1 neurology oncologist and 1 eye doc. They have never seen
this. lol As my DH says, "you never do anything easy" lol

Generally a grey spot on retina is due to leaking blood vessels. It can be age related macular degeneration (dry form) or it can be at any age (wet form, as in your friendÃ¯Â¿Â½s case). Yes, it can be hereditary. Generally treatment is by laser. Beta carotenes and Omega-3-fatty acids are known to help in recovery. Please ask your friend to discuss this with her eye surgeon.

That sounds better than lymphoma or melanoma. Did the doctors you saw rule out Macular Degeneration? Keep us up to date on it Kat!!
