Jersey Boys

Has anyone seen them live? My MIL really wants me to go to their show with her. I'll probably go since it will be something different to do, but wondering if anyone had a comment about them?

If you like the Four Seasons, then you'll like the show. If you don't..... don't go.
I've seen it twice. The SF company was excellent. We walked out of the LV version. It had really bad actors and singers.

Four bubbles for all of you! Yes, bubble wrap is the answer. From the MentalFloss website: In the late 1950s, Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes had a brilliant idea, perfectly suited to the aesthetic of Space Age design: plastic, three-dimensional, tactile wallpaper! For only the heppest of cats to decorate their swinging pads with! Sadly, sealing together two plastic shower curtains with air trapped inside just didnâÂÂt have the trendsetting effect they were hoping for. So, like many good innovators, they turned their bust into brilliance by simply changing their goal. Forget wallpaper. In 1964 they patented their "Method for Making Laminated Cushioning Material." Thus bubble wrap became a way to keep your rare Tasha Yar figurines safe during shipping, and also the cheapest form of repetitive therapy to soothe the pain of knowing sheâÂÂll never love you. Be sure to read about the paper clip. I love that. Thanks for playing! Cynthia Here is a link that might be useful: Don't Change a Thing

My girlfriend took me last summer and I was amazed at how enjoyable it was. I don't even like the Four Seasons, I'm just not thrilled by falsetto. But the show was so well done everyone loved it. It was interesting how the actors would face the audience and address them, and the simplistic set design worked perfectly.

Burpee Jersey Boy and Summer Girl

From a discussion about Jersey Boy from several years back: "Red Rose is an open pollinated, stable cross of Brandywine x Rutgers, sold by Tomato Growers Supply for over a dozen years that I know of. The only reason I could see for buying Burpee's extremely expensive version of this cross would be to collect F2 seeds to spend several years selecting your own version of what you can buy now for less than half the price and a fraction of the effort." Burpee is fairly well known among experienced growers for taking an existing variety, doing a bit of seed selection on it, and then slapping their own name on it and marketing it as something "new and improved" and available "only from them". One reason why many of us will not deal with them for seeds. So what you most likely have is Red Rose seeds and it has the disease resistance of good old Rutgers, nothing more, nothing less. Summer Girl is nothing more than selected seeds from later maturing Early Girls and will have the same characteristic of the standard Early Girl which one can buy for half the price. Sorry. Not what you wanted to hear I know. Dave

Butcher - I look forward to your Jersey Boys ripening and looking inside of the fruit that grows on your vines and see how it compares in taste and appearance from my results! Your plants look great - it won't be long now! Wormgirl - There is no obvious preference between Jersey Boy and Better Boy for me - All I have done is complicated/improved my growing list by growing Jersey Boy because now I want both Jersey Boy and Better Boy in our GH !! The plants appear identical in plant vigor, production, truss size, fruit size and fruit color - all great!! The Jersey Boy is a bit flatter fruit and the Better Boy does have that green gel you mentioned and I did notice that Jersey Boy does not have the green gel. I have not seen the green gel yet in the Jersey Boy tomato. Haha - that is interesting you don't prefer the green gel - now I will always look for the green gel when I eat a tomato - haha - I never really paid much attention to it in the past. I agree - the green gel doesn't look quite as appetizing though!? Better Boy has always been a great performer for us!!

We loved it when we saw it on Broadway, but I am a major Four Seasons fan.

Saw the traveling version 2 years ago and it had to have been my favorite Broadway show. Bought tickets for next spring when they're back in town. Loved it!

We loved it! But Lindakathy is right, you have to like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, which we do! It was well done, imo.

We saw it in Las Vegas and Toronto. Even though I am not a big Frankie Valli fan, I enjoyed it.

I don't care for the Four Seasons but I saw Jersey Boys on Broadway 2 years ago and I thought it was astounding. I'm amazed at how much I enjoyed the show. The sets are very simple but it helps to keep the focus on the music; the actors I saw were perfectly cast; and the music was toe tapping and energetic. A really great show.

I saw it in San Francisco. Great performers. Great show. I really enjoyed and I am not that much into musicals as a rule.

I'd love to see it. I was a big Four Seasons Fan back in the 60's. I had some of their records on 45 but my younger sister stole them. She also stole my dress shoes from my prom and wrecked them with her big feet.

Saw them in Vegas last year and absolutely LOVED the show. I've been to many, many shows in Vegas and this is the only one I'd go to a second time.
