Subject: Dangerous Chocolate Cake recipe

> 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

> 4 tablespoons flour

Oh, Ron, do you really want us all to get fat? LOL, or is that happy... cause we have cake and chocolate all rolled in to one in only 5 minutes?

I copied that recipe in to my recipe folder. Will need to try it. :)

Seems to me someone on one of these sites was trying it and it did not get good reviews from several people.

#1 yes, taste is a personal thing but we like them. #2 sure you can remove it. #3 assuming you can get all of that many jars ready to go into the canner at the same time then no problem. But IMO one person alone simply can't jar 18 pints without loss of food temp and letting some sit and cool while you are jarring up the next batch isn't recommended. Food temps must be maintained. If you can get an assembly line going then it can work but I'd recommend you do and try 1 batch first. Why waste all that food if you discover you don't even like them? There are many previous discussions here on the baked bean recipe so you might want to do a search and browse through them for more input. As to the canner fitting on the burner, yes it is a common problem which is why most either use gas stoves/burners or invest in the special canner burner available for their model of electric stove. Anyone try Peach Poppyseed Dressing Recipe from Ball jars?

Peach Poppyseed Dressing Recipe (makes approx 3 pints) 8 cups (approx 18) pitted chopped peaches 1.5 cups unsweetened apple juice Grated zest and juice of 2 large limes 2 TBSP grated gingerroot 2.5 TBSP Ball No Sugar Needed Fruit pectin 1 cup corn syrup 1/2 cup sugar 2 TBSP poppyseeds Prepare jars, bands, lids. Combine peaches, juice, lime zest & juice in food processor or blender and puree. Combine 7 cups puree and gingerroot in lg saucepan. Gradually add pectin. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Add corn syrup and sugar. Return to full rolling boil and boil for 1 minute. Stir in poppyseeds. Ladle hot dressing into hot jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Remove air bubbles. Wipe rim, add lid & band. Process in boiling water canner for 15 minutes Let me know if you try it. I plan to pick peaches on Saturday and think I'll try it out.

Has anyone tried canned lemon curd?

I've made it. And I've canned it. The longest I've let it sit canned is about 4 months. Obviously it doesn't taste like fresh - but it is better than the jarred stuff you can buy in the store. But canned tomatoes don't taste like fresh tomatoes either. I don't always have the time to make fresh lemon curd. I usually make it in January - when I'm getting my bulk citrus orders from Florida. There are quite a few lemon desserts I usually make at Easter, and I find it very convenient to have my home made canned lemon curd available. I usually can it in the 4 oz jars. I've never frozen it - so I can't comment on the difference between freezing it and canning it. I know there are tons of people on this forum who have 3 or 4 freezers, and thus always recommend the freezing option. But, like many others, I don't have that type of freezer space - so making fresh or canning are my options.

Good recipe. We've made it as a relish and using chunked big green tomatoes. Big chunks work better than wedges. More uniform flavoring and better texture. With wedges the skinny ends turn soft while the thick center stays hard and has less flavor. JMO Dave

3 tablespoons is a lot of oil for that amount of cake. I bet that could be cut in half.

I did make it with my grandkids and we thought it was fun and tasted pretty good. Our chocolate chips ended up at the bottom, which was the best part.
It's great for a quick chocolate fix or as something fun to do with kids.
We didn't dump it out - just ate it from the cup.

Doesn't that sound like a neat little Christmas gift.

You could just measure all the dry ingreds. into plastic wrap in a pretty mug. Include a recipie with the rest of the liquid ingreds. Just close the plastic wrap with a twistem and decorations.

A cute gift for all your friends that need a chocolate fix now and then.

Just a thought!

BTW I think I would use a medium egg.

I tried it when it was posted last time.

I don't remember exactly how it turned it out, but I do remember it wasn't what I had hoped for.

I tried it. It's not bad. I liked the way the chips sank too- Little surprise at the bottom of the cup!

I tried it. I cut the amount of oil in half and used only the egg yolk.I used Splenda instead of sugar.Didn't have chocolate chips so I drizzled sugar free chocolate syrup over it after it was done.It was a little rubbery so I'm thinking it would have been better with the full amount of oil.It was good though!

i have tried it too, and it was a bit chewy but fairly good :)
