The Kitchen Table

Here is Jake. Mio's (Mee o) brother

You can tell his Dad is in charge....his hair isn't combed but at least the breakfast looks good. Yogurt, scrambled eggs, toast with jam and prunes. I bet ny DDIL meant to cut Jake's hair before the delivery but since Mio was almost three weeks early, it didn't get done.

He has grown so much since we saw him last May but hope to get together in Hawaii in early Spring.

Oh Carol, he is just adorable~~as usual! Now I've got to go searching for Mio's picture. Congratulations on another grandbaby. You must be just beside yourself to see them. Daddy did good...Jake's breakfast looks yummy. Heck, sometimes I'd brush my son's hair and it'd still stick up like that! :-)

I did email one of the Gurney botanists last year about the SP apricots and she had verified eating some and that the advertising description was accurate and that I would love the tree! Thank you for your help. I have emailed stark brothers to see if they will sell one (if they have it) although i didn't see anything on the standard website or commercial catalog. Gurneys/HF are the only place i have seen the tree offered so I have to live with the rating. I guess it is such a new product nobody from garden web has had a crop yet. While I like adventure, I guess it is not a safe time to fly to the region of the world where this tree was discovered : ) (afghanistan, turkey, etc.)

She is adorable!! I have been reading a blog called Gaijin Mama, an American woman married to a Japanese man and I am wondering if your son is expected to work the long hours most Japanese men do and expected to go out with the crowd after work, or does he keep "American" hours? It is interesting reading her site. She has 8 or 9 y.o. twins and the girl twin is deaf and has cerebal palsy.

Thanks, everyone for you nice compliments! DS is in NYC already....has been a week and will be there two more weeks. Then he will go back to Tokyo to help finish up things there. They will be leaving Tokyo very early August. I am happy for me they are moving back but sad for DDIL and the kids. They will be so far away from both sets of grandparents. DS works for Citibank.....does something with computer soft ware and somehow manages the big portfolios for Japanese clients. He did work for Merrill Lynch for a long time but Citibank lured him away. Just in the nick of time. Jake's third birthday is August 3rd......first birthday in NYC, 2nd birthday in Tokyo and not sure where he will celebrate his third. They could have moved to Hong Kong....glad they chose NYC.

He certainly has grown since you last posted his picture, and he just gets cuter each time. I hope your trip works out for Hawaii, so you can get to see both of them.
