Dish Soap question...

It seems like my Dawn (the foaming blue stuff) no longer is cutting grease. Anyone else noticing that? I just finished hand washing a pan we made bacon in, and it still feels greasy. Uck!

Nope - I love the Dawn foam. Still works great for me! Very hot water is a must for grease though.

I soak my pans in hot water with Dawn Direct Foam and in just a short time,, ta da....the grease just disappears... Love the stuff...

Hey Patty.. I have been putting 15 to 20 little drops to a 32 ounce hand help spray bottle. Do you have Pro-Tek from Dyno-gro? That is a great emulsifyer. I have also use just a few drops of natural soap . http://www.amazon.com/Dyna-Gro-Pro-tekt-Tek-032-Silicon-Supplement/dp/B000E1VZHC I also use Coco Wet, not to emulsify, but to help the water stick to the leaves, so it just does'nt drip off so rapidly. The entire leaves get covered with a thin layer of water evenly. Great stuff! Why would more water get behind that once it's grouted than any other tile? Because it runs horizontally? But it has the slope in the back so water won't pool at the back on any grout lines. Doesn't make sense to do it any other way than the way the handyman has done it. I just googled and see some examples of it done the other way - it makes them look like after thoughts to me.

Don’t forget also you can decant your products into different containers. I like to use plastic in the bathroom (because of risk of breaking) but it’s not hard to find plain or decoratively shaped plastic bottles with a variety of top styles (pump, flip top, disc, etc.) online in a few colors (I’ve seen clear, amber, green, and cobalt blue off the top of my head) and they visually simplify things quite a lot, which lets more of the niche be noticeable since your eye is no longer distracted by all the packaging graphics which are designed to catch your eye on the shelf in the store. This also lets you adjust the size of the bottle so you can decide how much of your tile you cover up versus annoyance of refills. (I don’t have all matching bottles at the moment because I’m lazy, but I do have a cobalt pump top for my shampoo and another one for my conditioner - the brand my hair likes best is expensive and I get a much better price buying the salon/Costco size bottles which are far too big to leave out in the shower, there just isn’t room. The smaller bottles are I think 8oz and hold plenty so I don’t feel like I’m refilling all the time, and that’s with two other people in the house who occasionally steal my stuff.)

We used to love Palmolive Ultra but it seems like it's not so "Ultra" anymore. I bought some plain ol' Dawn and it works just fine but they all seem to be watered down compared to what they used to be.

I had used Ivory liquid for years.....Consumer Reports used to say it was the best, hands down. However, lately the suds died a quick death. I just bought Dawn hoping it would be better. We'll see.

I quit Dawn years ago!
I now use Seventh Generation Free and Clear.
It works as well if not better than Dawn.
Plus no smell!

I seem to remember a couple years ago Dawn changed. There was some ingredient in it that wasn't eco friendly or something to that effect. i agree, it ain't what it used to be. Still haven't switched though.....

I make my own foaming dish soap. I've been using the gain lemon dish soap, add hot water to the empty bottle then squeeze in a good squirt of the soap and your ready to go. If you want some scent add a few drops of essential oil to it

I use the Walmart pink dish detergent.Try it you will like it.

Dawn "did" change and that is when I quit using it. Hate it. I now use a very cheap brand called Dermasage that we get at a local grocery store called Food Depot and I love it.
