It was a beautiful day, until . . . kaboom!

I was on my way into town for one of my Ramblin' days, and to grocery shop..

I prefer the little back roads into town, rather than the busy main roads. These back roads are two lane, unmarked State roads.

I saw a car coming from the opposite direction and it is just second nature to be sure there is plenty of room, so I moved over a tad, and kaboom! I hit a rut on the side of the road. The noise was LOUD; I was tossed to the side and my left arm hit the door and it hurt like fire. I grabbed my arm, wondering if it was broken or bleeding. Other than hurting it was okay.

I knew the car wasn't damaged because it sounded normal so I drove on and after a while I felt my arm again, but this time I felt something else also. It was the airbag!

Now I'm thinking about what I should do. Go on and get my groceries? Go to a garage to have the car checked? Go see my insurance agent? I parked at the CVS parking lot to take a look at the car. Looked fine. I heard someone call my name and turned to see an old friend I hadn't seen for a couple years. We chatted for a couple minutes and thought it would be good to go somewhere and get a coke and catch up. She had not had lunch. Time to prioritize. Garage? Insurance agent? Groceries? Lunch? Priorities are important. Lunch won, and my lunch was her treat.

So then I went by my agents office, where they told me to have the car looked at and let them know what I found out. I went to the best known local auto shop. The owner gave the car a quick look, and said he would like to check out the alignment, made a copy of my Registration, snapped a couple pictures, and we set a time for me to take the car in.

Too late to Ramble or get groceries, so I came home and had leftovers for supper.

Have you ever had an airbag to deploy?

This is a 2005 Honda Civic.

Was I right to check with my agent first?

Does the alignment need to be checked out?

Wish me luck when I get the bill.

Sue
