Oh, I had a busy day with my girls. It was fun though. Lunch was hot ham and cheese from Hardee's and we shared a bag of curly fries. Today is Amber's birthday so we bought a tiny cake and we gals ate at her house. Sunday is the birthday meal. Supper was meatloaf Manhattan, sliced yellow tomato, and homemade fluffy tapioca pudding. Iced tea to drink.

Patti, getting all those necessary things done can be difficult to get through. Hope you are able to sift through it all with out a lot of hassle from all the agencies involved.

Tonight it is a Betty Crocker 'Classic' Pasta Salad. Revved it up with pepperoni slices, mozzarella cheese, green onions and grape tomato halves. Will serve it over a bed of salad greens. Pickled eggs and beets on the side and some crusty bread. Then there is half a home made pumpkin roll in the fridge that daughter sent over. A slice of that will make a perfect snack for later.

Potatoes O'Briens with smoked sausage sliced up and cooked with it. A wedge salad to go with it.

So many great sounding meals.

I had a salad topped with tuna, and a bowl of red beans with some mixed rices.

Patti, You just don't know how much needs to be done when someone dies. I remember how hard it was when our daughter died. We did not know where anything was or what she had. Just take it one day at a time.

Rain today but warmer.

Dinner for hubby was mahi mahi with a big salad. For me it was some pasta.

Having a hard time finding the ingredients this year for the fruit cake. I will have to try online.

We had meatloaf and baked potato, no veg! Patti, I've been able to tease along my sister's appetite with a fruit shake. She didn't care for a smoothie because of the yogurt. She needed calories and something decent. I combine vanilla ice cream, no fat milk and a handful of frozen organic rasberries with a touch of vanilla extract and mix it in the blender.

Sue, is Alyssa 2 or 3 today. I've lost track. Bet you're cooking all her favorites on Sunday!

Gazania, this winter for sure I am going to try to make a "roll" only jelly instead of pumpkin. I've never tried it and if it doesn't work out I'll make a trifle out of it :-) You're lucky your daughter lives close and likes to bake!!

Raven, smoked sausage is on my short list, too. I think with cabbage and carrots, although the potatoes O'Brien sound darned good.

Shirley, beans (red or black) are even better with rice. That sounds good.

Mary, have you tried Wal-Mart for your fruit cake supplies? I think the closer it gets to T-giving the more the stores will be carrying that kind of stuff. Speaking of stores (and your DH's dinner), I bought some cod at the store last week. Wonder when I'll be able to enjoy it.

We had things pretty much in order and so far getting things changed hasn't been a problem--except for Social Security. They're a pain in the arse!

Pam, that shake sounds yummy. I'm doing pretty well with my protein shakes, but some fruit would be good. I'll have to pick some raspberries up at the store tomorrow and give it a try.

Patti, it is not Alyssa's birthday today, it is Amber's. Alyssa will be 3 in February.

Patti, I'm so sorry for the difficult times after Harry's passing. My siblings and I are dealing with our Mother's death, so difficult.

I made some BLTs for us tonight....a real treat, as expensive as bacon is here.

Hubby had leftover turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce. I had half a turkey sandwich. That's about the extent of any leftovers I will eat. LOL

Patti, the truth is, my daughter is not the one who does all that baking. She can cook and bake well, but mostly it is the home ec teacher that lives with her that turns out all the goodies that we fall heir to. Nothing bad has ever come out of their kitchen!
