For some reason, I have believed in this girl. I don't know why....I just hope life works itself out for the best for her.

I think Americans should be wary of sending their daughters to Italy alone. This young woman was viciously smeared by Italian authorities as an amoral American woman.

I'm happy for her, she's been through hell.

Next comes her book and a million dollars to appear on tv and in public forums. I hope she is innocent, but I think her actions left a lot to be desired. It reminds me of the Mothers screaming to get their kids (the hikers) out of Iraq but I wonder why they allowed them to go in the first place and what the he// were they doing walking along the border. I hope she is innocent because a lot of people have been rooting for her release but.................

I also believed in her and hope she can get on with her life...I can imagine she's been through h***......
And you also have to feel sympathy for the other girl's family...

None too soon. The case was unproven.

The media created a juicy story about a sexy, rich-girl murderer. The police felt pressured to fit her up, which makes it impossible to know what actually happened.

I heard an American radio reporter who was in Perugia today for the appeal describe the town as isolated, inward-turning, surrounded by mountains. (Bad place to be 'the stranger'.)

I'm with the ones that never thought she did it. I'm psychic that way...HAHA! Just kidding but sometimes I just feel it in my gut and I'm right about it a lot. Like they'll talk to someone on the news and I feel like they DID IT and come to find out they will be the person that actually DID IT. I'm sure everyone has that same gut feeling from time to time.

Three years ago I happened across a book called "Monster in Florence" and read it. It concerned a killer who was slaying young couples who were parked. Long story short, the prosecuter was the same one as Amanda's case and he visited a psychic every week and she told him that a cult did it and where to find the killer. He did so and incarcerated the so called cult killer who turned out to be totally innocent. An American writer went to Italy to write and met a famous author who was writing a book about the case and they became friends. Both writers ended up in jail on trumped up charges via the hand of the same prosecutor. They eventually got released and the American was given a scary notice to get the heck out of Italy stat which he did. He continued following the Amanda Knox case and predicted the Prosecuter would do the same so, needless to say, I've followed the case and prayed hard for this girl. Today is a good day for me.

I agree with Ruthieg TX, I also hope she truly is innocent, but her conduct was questionable. As for the hikers, also glad they were set free, but I wondered why they had to hike in a troubled country....there isn't any place to hike here?
I sound hard hearted, but I have a difficult time drumming up a lot of sympathies for people who put themselves in trouble, and then want the world to rescue them.

The evidence in this case was questionable to say the least. I never thought she was guilty and I'm happy for her release.

Dotmom, I agree with you regarding the hikers. I did not have much sympathy for them either. I don't think it should be our duty to rescue people who willingly and knowingly put themselves in dangerous situations.

Wow some of you guys are a tough crowd.

What I most remember about the trial was how it was reported that Amanda did cart wheels into the court room one time. That was in the very beginning, then how she and her (ex)boyfriend laughed and smiled at each other throughout the proceedings; and I thought she was goofy or on drugs and very well could be guilty. Except I got all this from stories on the news then, hadn't followed the trial much after that. Later I wondered if she was trying to mock the court by showing what a "circus" it all was. It didn't work, it only made her look worse.

I agree Dotmom....with all the places in the US to hike why did they go to THAT country?

Guess Yellowstone, the Rockies, and other natural wonders of the US were closed at the time.

Her family describes her as book smart but not streetsmart. Very trusting of mankind, spoke to strangers on the street and in the park.
I heard the cartwheels was actually yoga, to relieve stress perhaps? And I know when I was younger I would giggle when nervous. I can't imagine what I would have been like living alone in a foreign country,19,not speaking the language well and accused of murder.
Her biggest mistake was trusting the Italian system, wanting to help and not leaving Italy immediately as most of her room mates British friends did..

Amanda's was sincere vs Casey Anthony's pic. That says a LOT. My opinion only.

I hope Amanda Knox is as innocent as she proclaims.I will be anxious to see what she does with her life from here on. That will tell a great deal about the kind of woman she really is.I for one will be waiting for her book and interviews.
I read she is fluent in Italian, German and French and has expressed an interest in the Innocence Project.
