I have no window covering. Only one large window above
the sink.

Vertical blinds. They are the narrower ones, about 2" wide at most. I have matching larger ones at the biggest window.

house in the suburbs--a solid blue valance, and patchwork cafe curtains that I made.

Country house--'fake' shades of lavender with white polka dots, print curtains that extend from top to bottom of window and are tied back with the polka-dot fabric. The curtain fabric matches my pfaltzgraf stuff. Actually? I found the curtain material first, then discovered it matched the Napoli pattern.

As to drapes and curtains in general? I have no drapes anywhere. All curtains--most of which I've either made from scratch, or 'tweaked'. I even make my shower curtains.

Just a valance. All of our house has curtains, I took the formal custom draperies down a few years ago. I just got done redecorating 90% of the house, new window treatments and furnishings. The last 10% is my office and conference area...that's next year.

I have cellular blinds through out the house, and have a simple valance over the top in my kitchen, the blinds, when closed really help to keep the cold or heat out. However most of the time they are up,I enjoy having all the light I can. I close them when temps drop in the winter, or is too hot in the summer.

I have woven wood roman shades.

My kitchen window has wooden shutters. To me they are just dust catchers, but they came with the house.

Nothing covers my kitchen windows anymore. I have a bay window over my sink and love being able to really see everything outside.

I have a horizontal cherry wooden blind with a fabric valance on top of the window. I have these blinds all over my downstairs and although they are very pretty and were very expensive, I despise them. Too heavy and too hard to clean.

The only window in my kitchen is over the sink and has no covering. The nearest houses don't have a direct view of the window so privacy isn't an issue.

I have white plantation shutters. I am renovating my kitchen soon and plan to do away with them as they are not kitchen friendly. I have a fairly large window so I am not sure what to put there. I need something becasue my rear neighbor likes to stand in front of his bathroom window every morning drinking his coffee with no clothes on. Not a pretty sight.

My window is above my sink and looks out to the back yard so just a valance up there. I have a great view.

Of course, the shelf below the window is crammed full with plants. Then....there is a solid row of these beautiful, glass crystals, hung by a tension bar in the window, sent to me by someone who just revamped 90% of her house. It's also my morning sunshine window. I have the wildest rainbow action going on every morning - thru the kitchen to the dining room.

GD loves it when I fling them like a harp and the colors dance everywhere. We dance and sing "You are my Sunshine" ('You make me happpppyyyyyyyy when skies are great').

Sheesh, gives me a headache and would send my Lupus neighbor into seizures! Thank Heavens it only lasts about 20 minutes!

We have nothing on the kitchen window...our "curtains" are trees outside the window. :)

I just have a lace valance on my kitchen window. There is a nice view looking on to my deck and back yard. It is the only newer window in my house so the cold doesn't come through but the sun sure does in the summer. I need to add a shade for summer.

I have two doors so they have curtains that match the wallpaper...no drape or curtain on the window by the sink!!

I have plastic mini blinds in my kitchen window. They look dated, but I like the clean lines. In my dining room, I have a valance above and wooden shutters below. I like the look of wood.

sink window and kitchen window, neither have coverings...the kitchen window opens onto the front porch. i do have a rod but hang those decorative flags for the seasons...i feel more comfortable being able to see out, than wondering if someone is hiding out there, lol...the sink window is high enough noone can see in...

Like Azzalea i make all of my own curtains and draperies.My kitchen has old fashioned roll up shades and lace cafe type curtains with valances.My dining room has lace curtains with a cabbage rose print swag valance.The only drapes are in the living room on the slider as it gets the afternoon sun and can get brutally hot in there on a hot sunny day.
Also make my own shower curtains.

I have no treatments on any windows in the house. The 14 windows in the sunroom have antique shutters that came with the house ,but they are never closed. Too many things on the wide sills.

Cherry wood blinds, simple and modern.

I have a bamboo blind, pulled up as far as it will go, so it's really just a bamboo valance. I never close it, ever.

No drapes or curtains on any of our windows, we have no neighbors to keep out. :) Just blinds of the matchstick or bamboo variety. Oh, the bedroom ones are lined for darkness in the morning!
