Hi everyone,

Just thought i'd let you know that i start Chemo tomorrow,so if i'm MIA don't worry,i'll pop in when i feel up to it.If you can spare any prayers,good thoughts etc,they'd be appreciated.

I'm not looking forwrd to this,but i do want to get it started and over with.Seems like it's been a long time since i started down this road.

I'll be thinking of you Kathi. I recently finished my 2nd round of chemo, so I kind of know what you are facing. Stay strong and positive.

Kathi...Good Luck...I just finished my first round and I'm not feeling all that chipper but we have to keep the goal in mind. Hang in there and you'll do just fine.

Hi Kathi, I've been anxiously waiting to hear from you. I hope you got the email I sent you. Sorry to hear you had such a rough time of it, but glad they kept you at the hospital longer so they could keep an eye on you. I know you must feel awful right now, but you are right, it will get better when the tubes are removed and healing progresses. Still so sorry you are having to deal with all this, but love that you have kept your sense of humor in spite of it. Thanks for keeping in touch and letting us know you are on the road to recovery. I'll certainly remember you in my good thoughts and prayers! It can't be easy and fear of the unknown is sometimes the worst part. I hope everything goes much more smoothly than what you are expecting. Please post whenever you feel up to it and let us know how you are .((Kathi))

Kathi, thought I would mention that not eveyone gets sick from the chemo. They gave me anti-nausea meds, but I never had to take them. My side effects were fatigue, numbness in my toes and fingertips, and a sensitive mouth so that I can't eat hot peppers. I wish you the same luck.

You'll get through it. Try not to worry, okay? The chemo needs to do its job, knocking out any cancer cells. I hope the time goes fast and the treatments are over soon.

You are in my thoughts! I would like to suggest eating some cream of wheat and dry toast before going in. "Comfort food" along with the anti-nausea medication seemed to keep that wanting/needing to hurl feeling at bay. Also, cream of wheat is high in iron and your body needs to build red blood cells rapidly.

I "craved" and drank water like it was going out of style too. I had my chemo treatments scheduled on Friday...that way I had the week end to "re-coup". It was nothing for me to go through a 5 gallon jug of bottled water....so it was good that I WAS at home...I made a permanent imprint/path in the carpet to our bathroom from the sofa and bed!

Keeping all of you on chemo in my thoughts and prayers. I lucked out and didn't have a bad time of it at all....just hair loss, fatique and chemo brain. I hope everyone copes with it as easily as I did without some of the nasty side effects you can get.

Remember chemo is your friend right now and it doesn't last forever. Hopefully you will all be NED (no evidence of disease) soon and join the survivor ranks.

Maryann's advice was so cool--stay strong and positive. If you need a shoulder or a laugh, just ask. Sorry you have to have the chemo and hope you'll have an easy time with it.

Maryann--not being able to eat hot peppers in Texas is almost a crime, isn't it??? ;-)

I am thinking of you this morning and send you lots of positive thoughts. Hope you have no nausea. I never did need the medicine for it. Tiredness is to be expected but if you can, keep moving. My doctor said that the upbeat approach I took, was 50% of my cure.

Kathi, I really enjoyed reading the book, Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips. I can't remember the author's name, but she said to use the cancer card. When you are invited somewhere and really don't want to go, tell them that you don't feel well from the chemo. Or if you don't want to cook, use your cancer card. And I have done that when needed. I think you would enjoy the book. I can't remember if I still have it but if I do I would be happy to send it to you.

Kathi, you have my positive thoughts as you go forward.

I felt lucky, too, not sick from chemo and radiation, just tired and I had the Chemo Brain episodes, too.

Now, I'm 6 years out and can only use Senior Moments as my excuse for things. :)

Hugs to all our Chemo buddies..I think of you all so often and am keeping the special thoughts for each of you.

Sending nothing but oodles of positivity and well being, your way today. May you endure your treatments with as few side effects as is possible! Don't push things and be patient..let the chemo do its thing to bring you back to your healthy, vibrant self. It will just take awhile. I will share my 'motto' in life with you:
