I used to use both, but stopped due to irritation. For the past couple of years I have been using Nair for the face moisturizing hair remover. I still get a little redness, but it goes away within an hour. It leaves my skin really soft. I feel as though I don't have to apply it as often as I had to with the bleaching and waxing.

I just don't like the look of bleaching...basically it looks like a blond mustache....If it needs waxing, my opinion is that it's too much to bleach. I'd try Nair too.

I never bleached my mustache. I would then have a blonde mustache. Still just a much thick hair. I have been getting it waxed and the hairs do seem softer after a while. It's a pain.

PLUS... why is it that my hair is coming in VERY slowly,
but my mustache and chin hair is back in full force! NOT FAIR! ahahaha

One easy way......Surgi creme sensitive. Do not rub at all. Pat on, lightly wipe off, rinse, soothing cream and your done.

I used to bleach my 'stache, but was never really happy with that. As Kat said, I just then had a blonde moustache. Waxing left me sore longer than I liked and then my face was red, too.

Bought an Emjoi Tweeze at Walgreen's for $9.99 and I love it. I use it on the chin hairs and moustache, too. I use it about every 4-6 weeks, and then use it as a tweezers on the occasional witche's spike that might pop up on my chin in between times, LOL.

I've heard from some who say it doesn't work for them, but it's such a small investment that I would suggest giving it a try. It's perfect for me. It performs best on a "just washed" face when the hair is -fluffier-.

I got me a Bellabe a while back and just love it. No mustache for me, blond or otherwise. No hair on the chinny chin chin, and no fuzz on the cheeks, etc. Made in the USA!

While I was getting it I just went ahead and got 2 of them.

I keep it in a basket beside my chair and use it occasionally when watching TV. There is a little sting to it, more in some places than others, but I'm free of most facial hair. I use it on my neck a little too.

Chemocurl, I also love the Bellabe-type spring-thingy. I have sensitive skin, and other methods are very irritating. The Bellabe does the trick, with no redness - just a bit of pinching, but no biggie.

My mustache isn't bad, but I sure spend a lot of time with my tweezers doing chin whiskers!

When I read the part about waxing a mustache I thought she was planning to make it a "handle bar", that would be cute....LOL

On the other hand, you could do what some guys are expected to do every day,,,just shave it off,,,personally, I like my beard & mustache.

Doesn't anyone shave it off???? I use a man's electric razor. My skin is to sensitive for the cremes and bleach only changes the color. My dermatologist recommended shaving.

I pluck the longer stray hairs that grow fastest hairs at the corners as they pop up and shave the rest of the upper lip with an little electric shaver. Far less irritating than chemicals or waxing and exfoliates at the same time. Baby soft skin with none of the downsides of the other methods.

Do it at the same time I groom my eyebrows (plucking).

I gave up on all the creams and started shaving mine. I do it in the shower every couple days, and have no problems with it. I do, however, have chin hair that I am constantly plucking (don't think I want to shave that) and it drives me crazy. That Bellabe thing looks cool. The only problem I have with some of these things is that you have to let the hair grow out a bit first. I just can't imagine going out in public like that.

Several good suggestions here. I may end up trying them all.

Hi Sue, how did you find out about the Bellabe? Sounds like I might like it. My hair is getting much whiter but that fuzz above my lip is dark and when I lick my lip it feels like fur! I don't have any chin hairs, but I do have to tweeze a gray eyebrow once in a while.

Neesie, relax. There is a lot more to think about; trust me, it gets worse!

I wax my wonderful (NOT!) mustache and goatee!

I'll never forget when my galpal finally got her glasses fixed and saw that her mustache was wicked long. BLEACHED, but long! She screeched, "Why didn't you tell me??" Heck, it was so long (but bleached, lol) that she could almost cut it with her teeth. I figured she knew it and was OK with it.

The next time I saw her, she had blisters on her upper lip from hair remover or waxing, I forget which. I think she turned to shaving, too. Why not?

I read about here on the KT in a post in the past year, I think. Then when I went to the site and saw it was made in the US, I decided to give it a try.

The only problem I have with some of these things is that you have to let the hair grow out a bit first.
It sure doesn't have to be very long at all. If I use it every few days, there is really never any what you would call 'visible' hair. When it comes in, it is a lot less visible (having been 'like' tweezed out) than if it came in from stubble after having been shaved

A friend gave me a Tweeze and it was ok, but I didn't care for it because it was battery powered and seemed to 'eat' batteries.

I only have a few chin hairs that pop up every few weeks but I may try the Bellabe. A friend uses it and she loves it as well so thanks for the endorsements! Sadly the waxing probably contributes to the wrinkles, too bad we didn't realize all this way back when!

I shave my few mustache and chin hairs daily with a Bic razor. Takes about one minute and works just fine. I put on lotion before and after, so no irritation.

Ok, about what age should I be expecting this hair growth to take place?
I'm blonde and going to go take a very close look in the mirror to see if I have a mustache.

I use a little Panasonic thingy that I think was originally intended as a nose hair trimmer. Been using that thing for years.

Sue a man's elec shaver is safe. It is what we use in our family. My dermatologist was very serious about NOT pulling out hairs, he mentioned infections.

After I shave with an elec shaver, I use a safety razor on my chin to get closer. My hair grows very fast.

A young lady was complaining about having to shave her legs. A couple of older women said I don't have to do that anymore. The young lady said that something good about aging. I laughed and said, all that hair that was only your legs comes back on your chin. You should have seen her face.

They are just a tad cheaper at QVC.

Sue, you may never have any. My gyn said it was a gift from my grandmother. The wife of the builder of my home must have bleached hers because when the light was just right she was covered with 1/8th inch of blonde fuzz all over the lower part of her face. That's why I shave.

I just shave the few that cropped up since the last electrolysis treatment. Will go for another one, soon, to get them off permanently too.

If you are a smoker, one effective thing you can do to reduce facial wrinkles is to quit smoking. Years of accucmlated smoker damage may not dissappear, only diminish, but any reduction is progress.

I have dark hair but never had any mustache hair (light or dark). Is this something I should expect to get after/during menopause or do you think I probably won't get a mustache if I don't have one yet (I'm middle aged)? My mom never had any mustache hair. What percentage of women get/have it?
