Critter Control spent the afternoon and part of the evening at condo in building next to me.

We had a strong cold front come thru and being we are in the woods, the raccoons are seeking warmth.

Critter Control is under contract with the condo association.

If the squirrel has babies in there, she WILL find a way back in, or create one. I had a he double hockey sticks of a time trying to eradicate one from the Florida room, where it joins the house! I blocked both ends of the rain spout and she STILL got in - went through the soffit vent. After she raised her babies, she left and hasn't come back.

When a squirrel clawed its way into my townhouse, presumably a squirrel looking for a place to have babies, I didn't mess around -- I called a trapper who was hired years ago by the National Park Service to rid Washington, D.C.'s Tidal Basin area of destructive beavers who took up residence there at a worrisome time: when the cherry trees were headed for blossom time (and thus prime tourist time).

He used an extended camera/video to find out how many critters were up in my attic, to see if there were babies already, to see if he could spot any wire damage yet. Then he put out wire traps near where they'd gotten in. He came every day to see if there was a trapped squirrel and took it with him to "relocate" it (to where, I wasn't concerned, but he was definitely a relocation, not killing, service).

Then he came back a week later, another week later to make sure I didn't here any more squirrel feet in the house (above my bedroom).

You should call your person back, get him to come look in the space and put another trap in, just in case. You don't want the squirrel(s) trying to claw their way out -- or touching inside wiring. And you don't want anything dead in there. I don't know how'd you get the smell out!

If a squirrel decides he's comeing in your house he will find away.good luck.

Our property is lousy with squirrels! So far we haven't had any get into our house but the neighbours are having a heck of a time with them. They are in their attic and their garage making nests. When I go outside onto the deck all I can hear is squirrels munching on nuts! The dog gets his exercise chasing them around the yard.
I love animals but these have become a nuisance!

We just had the fascia replaced on our new (1962) brick ranch. The squirrels gnawed a hole through that new fascia board and entered our attic and set up housekeeping.

My sympathies! We had a squirrel set up housekeeping in our attic several years ago. They would leave during the day. We found where there was a broken board, and DH sealed it up while they were out for the day. The squirrels blamed our dogs and cussed them out good, but they didn't get back in. Another time one build a nest in a wall. It was getting in through an area where the brick mold had rotted. Once again, we fixed the wood and the problem was over. They then caused over a 100 dollar damage to our satellite dish. I used to think they were cute, but know I see them as rats with bushy tails.

That's exactly the reason not to feed squirrels. They can cause a sh*tload of damage!

they don't last long around here--this is a hunting state and you know what that means. Also winters are a bit COLD.

Had them in our attic last spring. Husband live trapped 4 red squirrels and eliminated them. Then he sealed up their entry point and every possible place around the house that looked vulnerable. It is the red squirrels that invade homes. They can be very difficult to get rid of. Greys aren't so likely to be found in our homes.

I haven't heard any noise coming from the attic since Harry took the cap off. Mary52, ours left for the day, too. Guess they had to go to work :-) He left it off a few hours and put it back on and so far not one squirrel has even come close to the house. LOL!

I love squirrels and even have a pet one I raised from a tiny baby. He's three now and free. I have lived here for 28 years, always feed them suet , seeds, and corn and have never had one even try to get in my house. They live in birdhouses around the property and big nests in the trees. .
