Your costumes, your kids' costumes, your neighbors' costumes, etc.

Here's my granddaughter (the one who's recovering from injuries) as a peacock. Her best friend is a werewolf (or was for one night). ;-)

I wear my everyday wardrobe & push a grocery cart...ppl think I am dressed as a homeless person....LOL

Oh Man, Halloween is my absolute favorite. DH scared more adults than he did kids! LOL He put on a Ghillie suit and sat around in the yard. One young one squealed, jumped up did a 180 and ran to his parent. Both DH and the parent laughed over that one. Haha! I so love Halloween! The only time of the year we can legally scare the crap out of everyone! =D DD's boyfriend put on the ghillie suit, sat out beside the spirea at the end of the driveway, a couple of female parents with a group of youngsters wandered up to get candy from me. I handed out candy, walked part way out the door to watch the group walk down the drive. Dustin leaned out from the spirea and boo'ed them. Haha! Poor little boy lept about 4 ft to the side, screaming grabbed his momma's leg. His mom laughed so much! Oh Lordy I had so much fun! =D I R Evil! Next year, DH and DD's boyfriend will be deployed to out of country locations, so my middle son will wear the ghillie suit. I'll have more decorations in my yard. This year, we didn't have corn stalks or pumpkins out like normal. I didn't get to grow any this year, corn did poorly. I'll get photos next Halloween! LOL! Oh, Terriks! ;-) When I was at the costume shop buying ghoulish makeup, the woman working behind the counter was suggesting what to use, and she told me to be sure not to over-apply. "You don't want to look clown-like", she said. "Even a zombie-fied Diana would still look fabulous." I tried to keep that in mind. ;-D

Thank you! I can not tell you enough how much fun we had making this costume together! DS1 got done w/ his costume early and helped me w/ DD's and DS2's costumes. All of the kids each participated in the making of each of their costumes in some form or fashion. We had such a lovely, lazy laid back weekend crafting! Let me just say that while I was drawing it out on the posterboard (I used posterboard w/ a grid on it) I kept thinking "I am so glad that I had an architect for a Dad!". The measurments were ridiculous for someone not very mathematically inclined but thank heaven for a T square! After cutting it out and painting it I cut thin foam board to support the top of the top (does that make sense?) and support the top of the skirt. I sandwiched elastic straps between the posterboard and foam board and hot glued the foam board onto the back of the top and skirt. I ran a bead of hot glue onto the bottom of the hairbow and attached a headband. I cut out the tabs and hot glued them onto the costume and reinforced w/ duct tape. There is one house on our route that rewards children who have creative, innovative costumes that kids come up w/ on their own. My kids always make their house one of the last houses on their route and talk about that house all day long in anticipation. She carried that little purse all night long just like in the picture w/ her pumpkin in the other hand! I got the idea from the magazine Family Fun put out by Disney. That is a very cool (as in "Ewww.....cool!!") costume! Is it possible to see while wearing it?

Lovely ladies Alisande! How is your granddaughter doing? The costume Bigack posted has her son's head right in the middle and his hands are pulling his own hair/holding his head up.. so yes, he is able to see. I've seen this done with a clear plastic jar (cut in the back) over the head too.. so it appears the 'live' head is in a jar being held by a headless person. Very cool idea!

DH and I are going to our friend's annual Halloween party as John and Lorena Bobbitt. I won't post pictures here of that, but it is a simple costume with fake blood in appropriate places on some pajamas. I'll carry a 'bloody' knife and a jar with evidence (sausage). Sorry you asked??? lol

Those costumes are great. I wish I could post pics, but I worked as a hostess in a supper club, and Halloween fell on Saturday, so the employees decided work in costume. I made an angel costume. Actually I was a fallen angel with my halo askew and crumpled wings. As I was walking into the club and passed two guys who had been at the bar too long, one turned to the other and said, "Am I seeing things, or did you see what i saw? A fairy just walked by." I was torn between being a fallen angel or a preggers angel with a sign that said Heaven in just a sin away.

Here are my daughter's stepdaughters in homemade costumes. "Juliet" sewed her own skirt, and the motocross racer worked on her costume with her dad. (That's him in the picture.) A lot of work went into the "bike!"
