I have all kinds of Revere Ware pots and pans and love them. But I can't do without a couple of non stick frying pans. Not too long ago, I took advantage of a special sale of a set of Calphalon (Pottery Barn) and love love them.

If I had to replace everything, I'd not hesitate about getting the Revere Ware again, or the Calphalon.

My Reverware is 40 years old, and i've been replacing it with Calphalon, and i'm very happy with it.
Easier to clean, great for grilling.

I also have a Circulon wok that I use often. Criculon has heat proof handles and is lighter(and less expensive) than the Calphalon.

Oh, don't forget to replace your knives! Invest in a good set of knives for your home and donate the old ones to the camper. (Can't do without my knives!)

I have bought the bachelor sons expensive brands of cookware at Marshal's discount store- never a whole set at a time, but just pieces. Check it out.

We have Revere ware and cast iron (vintage). We will not hve any sort of non-stick cookware in our home. Properly seasoned cast iron is non-stick. :)

I have had various brands over the years but my tried and true and the ones handed down for generations is the Magnalite you just can not beat a good set of Magnalite cookware. In Louisiana you find a very large majority of the cookware is Magnalite and has been handed down and still going strong. I pick up new pieces to add to my growing collection still.
I got the original starter set with the big oval roaster as a wedding gift from my sister. I have every piece and use it all the time. I have added another size roaster and 2 sizes of gumbo pot or stock pots.
It does not have a non stick finish but it cleans up very easily. I do not put it in the dishwasher just let it soak for a few minutes in hot soapy water and good to go.

I have some of the original older Magnalite and some of the newer ones both are excellent. I watch for it on ebay too. I happened to find a great small sauce pan at a garage sale for $5 and 2 larger ones at a thrift shop for $2 each. Those were a steal.

I have several peices of the enameled cast iron, I think 4 of the deep roaster type cookers, a set of the skillets, and a couple of the saucepans. I love the roasters and use them often. But it is so so heavy with my hands and arms now I can not lift them so I have to have my husband do any lifting and moving. Plus if you have a glass top range like I do you have to be really careful not to set them down too hard and break the glass.

I really like my All-Clad.

My daughter loves her All-Clad. I avoid non stick cooking pans, though I might have one small 8 inch fry pan for omlettes.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit the hodge podge of cookware I own, but each piece has its function. And I've been editing, giving some things away since buying this house with its Jenn Air glass top stove, a few things I'd been using just didn't work well on it.

I have vintage revere ware, circulon, some calphalon. A scan pan skillet I like. Lots of magnalite, I had the 15 & 18" roasters on layaway before even being married and that was 42 years ago. Two magnalite saucepans and a dutch oven.

Raven, are you as happy with the newer pieces of magnalite as you've been with the vintage? All my pieces have 'Wagner' stamped on the bottom, the reviews I've been seeing for quality since the company has changed hands haven't been as good...And I don't put mine in the dishwasher, I made that mistake with one saucepan lid and the result wasn't pretty, its permanently darkened ;)

I'm almost stunned at the prices on complete sets of high quality cookware, some of them cost more than I've paid for stoves. But then, I put tires on my car last week that cost more than my first car too...

I have been pleasantly pleased with the newer pieces, I have read some negative stuff too but for me and my uses they work just as well. Many of mine are hand me downs too with the Wagner stamp. But my gumbo pots and my newer roaster are the newer and I have not seen any differences. I also learned the hard way about the dish washer, it was one of my small sauce pans and it is darker. I have read there are ways to polish them back out but it still cooks just fine and I am usually the only one that sees it LOL.
But really there is no need to put them in the dishwasher as easily as they clean up. And for such big pots they are not that heavy to pick up.

I have looked at some of the newer ceramic lined pots and am very tempted to get one to try. There are some at good prices at brylanehome for them. I looked at some skillets at Bed Bath and Beyond this weekend. All the reviews are good but most of the ceramic lined are fairly new so not sure how the long term will be.

I was watching QVC and they have terrific deals on all ceramic Temptations cookware. If I was cooking for a family again I'd get that.. look up there website to see

I had a pretty Temptations baking dish crack while baking a casserole....and NOT on a higher than normal setting. Won't be buying anymore....

I'm kind of tempted to just buy a cheaper set for the camper and leave my revere ware at home. I really like it and am afraid to be dissapointed.

This search is starting to feel like mattress shopping... You never know if you'll like it until you try....and by then you have invested several hundred (or thousands) in them!

I don't understand the need for a set of all of one brand of cookware. I have over the course of many years acquired different vessels best suited to their purpose. Cast iron, enameled cast iron, stainless steel, non-stick, carbon steel, anodized aluminum, copper, clay, glass.....

I have a gas cooktop, so no issues with scratching glass or induction compatibility.

If I had to rescue any of it from a disaster, I confess it would be the Le Creuset.

What I did for our RV was put a few of the extras that I had in my kitchen that I had doubles of, and then I just picked up a few individual new items like a set of skillets etc. I did not want to add too much for weight issues and I knew I would not cook nearly as much in the RV and I have actually never used any of my cookware at all in the RV. We have the outdoor kitchen on it and my husband cooks on that grill. We did pick up some items to use on the grill and we have used those, we got them at camping world and at walmart in their RV and camping area.
The one item I do need to add is one of my big gumbo pots because we may need it for boiling some seafood or making gumbo but it will take up a lot of space for something not used often. That is the kind of thing I put under the dinette benches.

For dishes, when we were at camping world they had a discounted shelf and on it was a complete set of dishes that were microwave safe, the box was torn but the set was complete. I picked it up for around $5. Perfect, light weight and easy to clean. I did get a new complete set of silverware, my RV came stocked with some things like a crock filled with all kinds of serving utensils and stuff like that. It also came with a very nice set of dishes that were ceramic but I did not want those in the RV so they are now in the kitchen.

I went to Bed bath and beyond and hit their kitchen dept. got all the gadgets including a new swingaway can opener, and a nice selection of kitchen towels and cutting boards etc.

Even though I think I have everything I possibly need it seems every trip I find something I don't have.

Thanks all for your suggestions! I ended up getting a cheap new set for the camper. I figure at most I will cook on any given piece maybe 12 times a year.

I went on a little fun buying spree last night! New bedding, towels, rugs, dishes, cutlery, pans, hairdyer, coffee pot, lamps....
stayed within my budget and still got (I think) everything I might need. (I would have spent more on the new cookware than the sum of all above)

Now all I need is to make new curtains to replace the awful ones that came with!

One of the first things my husband insisted on was the same coffee brewstation he has in the house and we love the Hamilton beach brewstation, no carafe to deal with.

If you have a big lots around you they have these great led lanterns, they look like the old fashioned kerosene farm lanterns but they use batteries and have a very bright led adjustable light. They are $10 which is very reasonable, we have several for home and RV. Wonderful for when the power goes out. For the RV we hang one on each end of the awning and on the outdoor tables.
The are NOT the old Brooklyn lantern as seen on tv but similar, these have a brighter light. They are very similar to this one, but this one is a much smaller size, the ones I have are the regular full size.
