Russell Sturgis (October 16, 1836 - February 11, 1909) was an American architect and art critic of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Started up in practice in NYC (1863), his works included Farnam Hall, Yale University, New Haven, CT (1869or70) and the Farnam House, New Haven (1884 He was one of the founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1870. A very interesting man. I learned a little about him because he was an acquaintance of my Great Great Grandfather and as a young man my Great Grandfather respected him and his work a lot. LIL

I'm still practicing with still lifes & PS. I'm calling this one: "I've Got Time" The turtle clock was given to me by my mom when I was 9. I purchased the solid gold pocket watch @ a flea market for $20 when I was 11. 1906 is engraved on the back. The one has a heart rate monitor. Mickey was found in a parking lot. The dive watch was an anniversary gift from the company I worked for.....

Beautiful photographs, all! I'm going to vary on the (mostly) fall/nature theme. I'm setting up to do some posed infant shots with my newest grandson. We did just a couple the other night, but have lots more ideas we're going to be working on, a little at a time.

Absolutely beautiful photo. What a great way to start my morning! Thank you for all the great photos you post. Lisa
