Would you find this as Hurtful

as I did?

Someone you've been very close to all your life (okay, a relative).... you've helped her move not once, but twice. you watched her child after school 3 days a week at her house so that her kid could play with his friends--meaning you took YOUR daughter away from her neighborhood and friends. Someone who was very glad you were a SAHM and could take care of our Mom for the last 12 years of her life, so She didn't have to put in the time, or take care of infected feet, bedsores, bungled finances, etc

After all that--which I never did for any kind of return or thanks, just because families do that sort of thing for each other--you ask her for one favor. Not even her. In passing, I said something about hoping her husband and my brother would both available to help us move a few things.

Her reaction? "Oh, no. Weekends are MINE". And then she denied that we helped her move twice. The one move she's conveniently forgotten about was when I was pregnant, and I still helped tote and lug her stuff from her second floor walk-up.

I was shocked and so hurt. I just cannot believe she would be that selfish and unhelpful. I was only asking for a couple of hours, from her husband, at that. I've always been there for my family, whenever they needed anything at all, and happy to help.

Interesting thing is, some of the guys my husband works with have repeatedly offered their help--I don't even know them. Just goes to show, I guess.... sometimes strangers treat you a lot better than family.
