One of the many fire/cooking places at Kings Landing Historic Settlement. The temp when we were there was 29C...I can't imagine how hot these people must have been! Fire and wood stove were the only ways to cook back then.

Beautiful photos as usual! Bigack,I would love to sit on your porch too. I'll bring Rowdy and Jillian to play with Allison and Carol can bring Jake and Mio.Wouldn't that be fun!!! LOL Carol-Our two little ones LOVE the aquarium.Rowdy will sit (which is very rare) for a long time looking at the jellyfish.He won't go through the tunnel where the water is over your head.The shark scared him one time and he just backs up when we get to that area.LOL

I loved all the pictures, except the stink bug! All I have to do it look out my door and get my fill of the nasty things......

Do they stink when you step on them, or do they naturally stink all the time? Never seen them before.

Jas - I think it's like skunk: doesn't have to be dead, just startled/scared to spray and stink.
Sunny - there's not too many around here this year.

Jas...vetaal is correct, at least in these parts. Just startle them and they will stink. Kill them and oh boy what a stink!!!

With the stink bugs, we seemed to have had more last year but there is quite a few trying to get in this year....One thing I did find out, last year when I brought my indoor plants in off the porch, the dreaded bugs had dug down in the dirt and when they got inside and the heat came on, out they came...
We were also told, they would be gone after a frost, well, no luck, they just moved under ground or inside....
I also heard, these bugs were brought here to take care of the brown lady bugs...Not sure about that....
AND they do stink...They have a smell about them even when alive and if you kill them, oh my.....When we catch them in the house, we flush them or put them in a plastic bag and then put it in the garbage....Also, it's said, not to kill them because that smell with bring on more.........
AND nothing gets rid of them.....

When I was a kid on the farm I used to catch about a dozen stink bugs and put them in a matchbox, then I would take them to school and sneak in the english teachers room and squish them on the floor by her desk,,,,LOL
