Results of my biopsy

You may remember a week or so ago, Gardenspice started a thread about us gals having our mammograms. I had just had mine and been called back for another and then a biopsy. And some expressed that they wanted to hear what my results were. I am ever so glad to report that the doctor called today and told me that it was just a ductal papilloma - basically a wart or node in the milk duct. She said it is NOT cancer and needs no treatment. And I want to thank all of you who were thinking good thoughts for me.

Donna......That is GREAT news!

I know that you must have worried about all this. It's the not knowing that can drive a person almost to the point of needing sedation....(been there, done that).

Now you can let out that deep breath, kick back,& relax!

I'm glad today went well for you too and the results are a-Okay. So many things can make a PAP test come back abnormal. Being on antibiotics within the past several months will make a Pap weird. I'm bettin' this is the case for you! Lori

Research the status on very young women (in their 30's OR younger!) who have been diagnosed with breast cancer - AND - have never had breast cancer in their family history! The onset of BC younger than 40 yrs. old is generally not without - a much higher Stage cancer at diagnosis 2. higher rates of the cancer reoccurring I'm not sure why you're attempting to discourage very simple screening for something that hundreds of thousands of women die from each year. The progress of women's health care has come too far for such nonsense. JoAnne - I'm sorry they didn't test you yet but stay strong and know that you're definitely doing the right thing by keeping this in check! Please keep us posted.

My DH was angry to see that Medicare was charged $300 for a PSA test from his physical last month. He's mid-seventies. His PSA numbers were never 'interesting' back when the test was appropriate for his age (prior to 70). We did our physicals at the same time. The lab gave me the option of declining the cholesterol test because I would have to pay the entire cost for it. I did decline it. (Perfect cholesterol is my only health claim to fame.) I wish DH had known he was getting the PSA; he would have declined it as inappropriate. Just because a test or procedure isn't Out Of Pocket doesn't make it appropriate. Jasdip -- Why is your DH having this test if he has no prostate? Is it indicated because he DID have a problem? (I don't understand.)

Thank you Nancy and Celeste. Nancy, I have the firm belief that when God leands you to it, He leads you through it, and have wonderful peace about the situation. I do NOT enjoy the fatigue or queasiness, but, as Celeste says, working in that garden is good for my mind and heart. Yesterday I could spend only an hour or so but was able to mark a few thigs off of my re-organization plan as "Done" which is joyful. kay

I just made my appointment yesterday.. I'm behind by a couple years. Gardenspice gave me the nudge. Going with a girlfriend who has never had one yet.

That IS great news...however; not to put a damper on this!

I, as a 2 time breast cancer survivor....would suggest getting another opinion! JMHO!
