Dave, I got a couple pictures of the box for you. The size is roughly 48X48". In retrospect I should probably have made it bigger, but it was truly spur of the moment because I saw the fiberboard siding material, intended for sheds, for sale as 2 remnants at HD that were about 48"X40". Yes, on the junk lumber cart. Just small enough to fit in a sedan, and only a couple bucks a piece IIRC. I instantly came up with a plan how build it and bought most of what I needed on the spot. Some of other wood was my own scrap or also from the junk lumber cart. Anyhow it was around $50-60 IIRC, because some things are pricey like the hinges and rubber coated chicken wire. I completely lined the bottom with wire mesh, to hopefully keep rodents from digging in. The only semi-permenant plant so far is a Rhododendron 'Goldstrike' rooted cutting, which weathered last winter handily in the box. However, next year I plan to move all rooted cuttings into this after their first year, have them do 2-3 years in here, then transfer to the garden. Also my 2 (hopefully 3, still not sure about one) successful rhododendron grafts will go in here for a couple years, so the graft can fully heal without an animal or the wind disturbing it. In some sense the size is good because this is about a 200' walk from my only water spigot, and it's just about what a 2 gallon watering can can water if it got dry. As it happens, I haven't had to water it at all in the past couple years. At the moment I've let some forsythias overgrow it for shade, but I will eventually cut those back as an Abies firma to the east gives it some more shade. The adjecent rhododendron will have to go this winter or next spring. The main annoyance is that slugs can still get in there, and they are actually sheltered from my many toads that keep them under control. It doesn't affect shrubs but a couple herbaceous things were eaten. Next spring I might try to locate some fine copper mesh and dig it in next to the galvanized wire mesh lining the bottom, but first I need to research whether that will cause a galvinic corrosion problem. It's possible that fine aluminum window screen will work as well. I highly doubt the slugs will then have the intelligence to climb all the way over the top of it and come through the top mesh...but who knows. i've been using ethanol gas for a long time. for my 2 strokes, i don't mix more fuel than i can use within a reasonable time, don't let it sit. when i had a little lawn service business, i could mix a gal at a time without it going bad. since i've cut back on customers i can get by mixing only what i'll use. when i'm mixing small amounts i mix 8oz gas to 1 tsp oil. i buy and sell a lot of "broken" lawn equipment, more often than not the problem is fuel related. gummed up carbs, deteriorated lines. usually because the owner stored the machine with fuel in it. the gas you bye in cans (premix) is fail safe but expensive. if you like to store fuel, google "pure fuel" or ethanol free fuel in my area, there might be stations still selling real gas. there are people that swear by fuel stabilizers but i don't use them.

Nancy, the peach pies look beautiful, but I'll bet they are labor intensive? Could you make a large cobbler with a top crust and maybe some struesel crumbs on top then portion out two servings in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap? Have you considered tea breads - mini loaves of lemon bread, banana bread, applesauce walnut bread, etc. could be made mid-week and would hold well in the fridge until market day. This type of bread is usually very moist and will hold longer than yeast breads. Last year my friendship starter breads sold well. The starter keeps the loaf very moist - you don't have to call the breads "friendship" or Amish Friendship as people who don't bake have probably not heard of them and might not understand the concept. And have you tried mixing up your pretzel roll dough a day or two ahead and keeping it chilled until ready to bake? Are the three large loaves the asiago bread? Does one recipe produce 3 loaves that size? I'd try making four slightly smaller loaves and price them a little less. Also, I would try making a recipe of the sugar cookies mid-week, then wrap them well with plastic wrap, put them in a zip bag or container with a lid and store them in a cool place until market day. You could make a test batch and see how they taste to you several days later. The cookies could also be frozen on the day they are made and pulled out the day before market day. Or, make the cookie dough ahead and freeze then bake the day before market day? You are getting a feel now for what sells well for you and what your customers repeatedly buy - that's good. But think about how you can begin your baking earlier in the week and try new items that can be made ahead. Do you have a flyer on the table offering to make special orders? When I did this I sold by the recipe - i.e. an entire recipe of yeast rolls or 4 loaves of my Amish bread recipe. I would offer the customer a slight discount for ordering the entire recipe and I would tell them how to freeze the breads. This way they could order ahead to be sure what they wanted was held (out of sight) for them. I have some great recipes if you want those. Teresa

FYI.....Why it took some time for my June K5W install to reach satisfactory exclusion ratio... That ratio is currently 94-96% after approx, 90 gallons processed. Second installation at different location accomplished this morning. That installation delivering 97% from the beginning. Why the difference? This morning's installed unit was run-in at Kinetico's facility for a couple of days first. Everything was checked ln-operation and flushed through before it arrived. This is their standard procedure. There was a miscommunication with previous installation. The work order was written with the air-bladder tank. That tank was run-in and ready to go -- but that's not what I wanted. I wanted the new WoW (water-on-water) tank. They did have a WoW tank on the truck so the installation could be completed. However, that tank was not flushed and run-in previously which is their usual procedure. Essentially, I've been doing that service in-use that is usually done before installation. This is why I've noted the steadily increasing exclusion ratios as more water has been processed.
