Made a chicken pot pie, I was so busy yesterday, i'm just tired today. So, a one-dish meal tonight.

I had one of my all time favorite meals. Some kind soul left a small bag of fresh green beans on my outside chair on their way to work this morning. So of course I had ham, potatoes, and green beans. Enough for leftovers too.

We had homemade waffles, maple sausage from the Amish market and some of my leftover homemade applesauce.

Monica, pot pie is very time consuming--at least it is for me. I buy mine already made :0 I'm sure yours is better.

Wow Shirley, I wish that green bean fairy would come to my house. Your dinner brings back memories of my childhood and that's a good thing.

Azzalea, that sounds so good. "We" decided to order a pizza instead. Haven't had it for a while and it sounds pretty good. Especially the part where I don't have to cook. We're getting the ham, pineapple and bacon on thin crust from Pizza Hut--delivered! :-)

I wish those green bean fairies would stop by here and pick my green beans! I did not get to do that today. My supper was smoked turkey breast on toasted oatmeal bread with Miracle Whip, lettuce and home grown tomato. Just water to drink. It was very good.

I had a lot of errands to do this morning after walking Georgy. This afternoon I had to decorate for our golf luncheon tomorrow and now I'm tired. I had a bowl of hot and sour soup left over from the other night. DH will have some leftover linguine with shrimp and clam sauce. I'm running out of left overs and I already know I won't want to be cooking tomorrow night. What to do, what to do. I have 24 hours to think about it.

We just got home from Oklahoma, we stopped at the famous Woodys smoke house and the world's best jerky store. We picked up bbq smoked ribs and chicken and beans, and stocked up on their fabulous buffalo jerky, omg it is wonderful. I love going there I could spend an hour drooling and admiring the goods, they also make some of the most yummy fudge of every flavor, but I was good and left with out any.

My gosh, Sue--your green beans are very proficient this year. If I lived closer, I'd pick them for a portion!!

Georgysmom, you are the busiest person! For tomorrow I'd say eat out or order in :-) Just sayin'!

Raven, you are the bomb! Fudge in all flavors and you resisted?? Wow, now that's will power. I'd love some good smoked meat--I don't care what kind! I want to go there!!

The mention of grits yesterday inspired our supper tonight. I made my version of southern shrimp and grits...sauteed some onions and green peppers in butter, added flour to make a roux, then added broth and smoked sausage cut into 1/2 inch rounds. When that's had some time to steep a bit, I added peeled raw shrimp and some Old Bay seasoning. We spooned it over a nice pile of 'slow' grits and had some fresh fruit on the side.

Despite 18 lbs of leftover turkey in the fridge, I had a lamb steak and DH had a pork steak. They were thawed and I had to cook them up. Baked beans and corn rounded out dinner.
