Looking to order some Christmas cards this year because we moved I want something cute!Can you post site if you have one to share? thanks :-)

I've ordered from leanintree.com before. Most of what they have is western/wildlife type cards. They also have some cards that are specfic to states. I wish they had Missouri cards cause I'd buy some of those.

I have ordered lots of specialty items from celebrationsbyshelia.com. Look at her site. She can talk to you on the phone about your particulars too.

She did my daughter's save the dates, our wedding breakfast invitations, and our Christmas cards for the past few years. One Christmas card featured our bridal couple's picture under the floral arch as they said their "I do's." I wanted to send that one because I loved the picture so much and I wanted friends and relatives from across the country who were unable to join us to see the happy couple on their special day. She will also address and mail the cards for you if you want.

I got a belated e-card from a friend wishing me Happy Birthday. I wish I hadn't. I would have preferred she skip the whole thing. Christmas cards seem the last vestige of a lovely tradition of keeping in touch. I always consider them part of the gifts of the holiday season, that someone would take a little time to write a note and send a card. Of course there are those who don't write the notes, but send the card. Either way, with text messaging and digital everything, I like the now ''old fashioned'' tradition. I also cut way back on my card list after realizing there were those who don't really care about them. I still do though, and it's the one time of year I enjoy going to the mailbox.

I don't always send them, but I always intend to! I have been pretty good, a couple years in a row now... Like Bill, I think it's an extra special treat to those who get one from me, the odds are dodgy!! It sure is a feeling of accomplishment, getting those cards in the mailbox. I also write a short personal message, since I don't have kids or photos or newsletters to share. It gets a little tedious to write in each one, but I make sure I have eggnog and carols playing and make it festive. This year I wrote half while watching "Holiday Inn." I like reading the newsletters, even when they are braggy! Usually they are from relatives I don't keep in touch with so it's just a nice record of their year. I don't mind cards that are just signed (always the photo ones) but I prefer the ones with a message! I also don't compare give-to-recieve. I am sure I've fallen off a list or two for the years I missed, but I send cards to people I want to extend a greeting to, not to those whom I owe anything!

YOU are the one who made it about me with your thinly veiled comment AS IF none of us would notice it. lol. You said: A little sad to hear some consider the practice a contest. I hope none of my recipients are in that camp. insert your text Do you think I'm that dumb not to recognize an insult when I see one? "Some?"..uh, you mean ME? lol At least I don't hide behind rudely veiled comments like you do. If anyone dares offer a different viewpoint you get your feathers ruffled. I deliberately avoid many of your threads now for that very reason. I think others do the same. Oh reeally? You must have missed my recents threads which YOU reply to all of them. ;) Admit it, you live for my topics. hee. Now, lay off the eggnog and have a very merry Christmas! Dh and I have already been out shopping and out to dinner and I refuse to let you ruin my Christmas spirit. Sorry to everyone else, but sometimes ya just have to get it off your chest. :)

They sell a lot of trees that are not well-regarded by many horticulturists - like flowering pears, Paulownia (Empress tree), hybrid poplars and willows and Leyland cypress. Trees that grow fast tend to be weak wooded and often come apart in windstorms. Or have a host of other problems that make them not so great in the landscape (like invasiveness in many areas). And again, they are offering a very broad range of plants, many that will not thrive in a Florida climate. As I stated in my previous post, you need to do your homework on appropriately climate-suited plants before you look into ordering anything online. Then see which, if any of those, are offered locally for the best size and the best price. Only when you have eliminated all local sources should you resort to mail order. Recommended landscape trees for south Florida. And to help to get you started on actually locating the plants, check out this listing. Seems rather comprehensive to me :-))

I always get my Christmas cards through the National Wildlife Foundation. I particularly love their captions.

I ordered Christmas cards last year because I was looking for some that had possums on it. I can't think of the name of the site now tho. I know that the artist was Charlotte Terhune.

I ordered some cute ones one year from National Wildlife Foundation. It showed three raccoons opening the door on an old fashioned refrigerator. I had raised three baby raccoons that year and they were always into everything and it was appropriate for me.
